continues to gain attention as one of the better shooting guards in the state because of her offensive confidence and scoring ability. She has become a dependable perimeter threat that can knock down shots consistently while also attacking closeouts and creating opportunities off the dribble. Leffler’s offensive growth over the past year has been noticeable, especially in her aggressiveness and willingness to take big shots.
Heading into June, she should play a major role for Indianapolis Roncalli offensively. Her spacing ability opens the floor, but she also competes hard and brings energy defensively. College coaches will continue monitoring her development because players who can consistently shoot and score the basketball always bring value. If Leffler puts together a strong June with efficient scoring performances, her recruitment and ranking stock could continue rising.

Going back to what I saw in a pair of tournaments during May, Elliot looked as though she’s taking her final grassroots season as serious as possible. She is getting the most out of her ability as she can, playing with a tremendous motor, but she’s also playing tough-nosed, physical, and making plays with her skillset. She is shooting it well, taking good shots, and she’s attacking when she can turn the corner. She’s also sitting down and using her length defensively with more urgency than I’ve seen out of her. She will likely be a “fit” kid who is recruited to play in certain systems over others.

Every time I had the opportunity to watch Elliot compete throughout the weekend, she continued to play at a very high level and consistently impacted the game on both ends of the floor. Her competitive nature and effort stood out every time she stepped on the court.
Offensively, Elliot did a great job of attacking the rim with confidence and playing downhill. She was aggressive when getting to the basket and consistently looked to make plays for her team. Along with her ability to attack, she also did a solid job of finding her shots within the flow of the offense and taking advantage of scoring opportunities when they were available.
What makes Elliot stand out is the way she competes from possession to possession. Whether it was offensively or defensively, she played with energy and toughness while doing everything she could to help her team succeed. Her consistency and willingness to compete at a high level made her one of the standout performers throughout the tournament.

I’m not sure anyone helped themselves in a singular game Friday more than Elliot. In a lopsided loss on a main court against a strong opponent with 20+ schools there, she was the one who often stood out. She shot it extremely well, creating space for herself at times, but she also used her strength and physicality, as she always does, to get into the paint and finish, to defend, and to rebound the basketball. She always just plays so hard, so physical, and she has this quiet toughness about her. I would expect her to have a little following of her own these next couple of days.

Elliot Leffler continues to prove why she’s ranked #13 overall and the top shooting guard in the 2027 class. A true scorer with a natural feel for the game, Leffler stood out once again this past weekend after an already impressive run through the IHSAA state tournament.
What separates her is her ability to make plays when it matters most. In tight, competitive games, she consistently finds ways to impact winning — whether that’s creating her own shot, knocking down perimeter jumpers, or capitalizing on defensive mismatches. She has a strong understanding of how to read defenses and exploit matchups, allowing her to score efficiently even when shots aren’t coming easy.
Leffler also shows confidence as a shooter, remaining aggressive and poised even in tougher stretches. She doesn’t shy away from big moments, which is part of what puts her in early conversation for Miss Basketball honors down the line— one of the most prestigious recognitions in the state.
Overall, she’s a high-level guard with scoring instincts, composure, and the ability to take over games, making her one of the premier players to watch in the 2027 class.

Unfortunately for Elliot and Roncalli, she was struggling with what the TV broadcast announced as severe cramping in her leg. By the fourth quarter, she was basically playing through the pain and landing/pushing off of one leg. Considering that, her performance was even more impressive. Elliot scored 22 points, she was 3-for-5 from deep, she grabbed 6 rebounds, stole a ball, and blocked a shot, while managing to play nearly 30 of the 32 minutes. Once she gets rest/recovers, look for her to have a big Spring.

Leading into these State Finals, I’ve spoken quite a bit about Elliot’s importance to the Lady Royals. She scores twice as many points per game as her next closest teammate, she is tough, she plays hard, and she has a nice understanding of the game. Through nearly 3 seasons, she has already scored 1315 points and pulled in 420 rebounds as a guard. This season she is helping the Royals in the way of 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game, while helping them advance to their first State Finals since 1986. I would expect her to have a big game later this evening.

Elliot is by far the leading scorer for the Royals, and she will undoubtedly be the focal point for Bellmont. Whether they decide to limit her and force others to step up, or limit others and force her to score 50 will be the question. But two things are certain about Elliot…she isn’t afraid of the moment, and a missed shot has never stopped her from taking the next shot. She is a gamer and could be a problem for Bellmont if she’s “on”. She is strong for her position, tough-nosed, and skilled. She can attack the basket North/South and finish at the basket, plus she has range beyond the arc.

has kept up her good season thus far throughout the playoffs. In her first-round matchup, she finished with 19 points, followed by 10 in a 37-point win vs. New Palestine and a 21-point performance to win the sectional title. Elliot has shown she can play all season, and as the season wraps up, she continues to turn more heads.

Elliott Leffler put on an offensive clinic for her team, consistently keeping them within striking distance. She displayed advanced shot-making ability, creating her own offense off the bounce and confidently knocking down shots against defensive pressure. Leffler was effective scoring from the perimeter and attacking closeouts, but she truly stood out with her ability to get downhill and finish through contact. Her aggressiveness forced Pike’s defense to foul, sending her to the free-throw line where she converted 15 of 20 attempts. Leffler finished the night with 30 points while shooting 39% from the field, highlighting both her volume scoring and toughness in a high-level championship environment.
