All four of the PGH Kentucky scouts/writers were in the building and we all walked away very impressed by this class. There’s bound to be players mentioned in multiple articles by different scouts, but every player deserves to have something written about them after their showing on Saturday. When I was trying to decide how to break down these articles, I ultimately decided to turn the notes I had for each player at the event into a series of articles. I’m putting them out numerically based on jersey number, so below you will find the notes I had down for #223-228.
Brynn Brickey Brynn Brickey 5'9" | SG South Oldham | 2027 State KY
5’7 | Guard | South Oldham HS | Louisville Jaguars / Lexington Crossover
#223 – When it comes to doing the little things that don’t always show up in the stat sheet, Brickey is a master. Constantly makes impressive hustle plays, blocks out strong and goes after rebounds hard, defends well, and does whatever is needed to help her team be successful. Can score off drives or knock down shots. Smart shot selection. Made good passes, moved without the ball, and really just consistently made an impact.
Maya Custard Maya Custard 5'8" | SG Scott County | 2027 State KY
5’8 | Guard | Great Crossing HS | Overtime Performance 2025
#224 – Good speed. Made some great moves to get past her defender and to the rim. Finished through contact on multiple occasions. Moves so well without the ball and recognizes where to move to get open looks off teammates drives. Showed an ability to knock down shots from all over the court. Played hard defensively and wasn’t giving up anything easy.
Calia Jones
5’8 | Guard | Sacred Heart | Kentucky Ice
#225 – Was making a good impact on both ends of the court that went far beyond scoring. Was being smart and not forcing shots that weren’t there, but recognized when she should drive to the rim or knock down shots. Played great defense. Consistently went after rebounds hard and got her hands on the ball. Really just stayed solid and did whatever her team needed from her.
Kyleigh Stakelin Kyleigh Stakelin 5'9" | SF George Rogers Clark (GRC) | 2027 State KY
5’8 | Guard/Forward | GRC | Richmond Heat
#226 – One of the hardest workers in the gym. Consistently plays with a high motor. Has good hands. Doesn’t force stuff and makes good decisions. Excellent form on shot and has a nice quick & high release. Finds the gaps and can weave through traffic to get to the rim. Handles the ball well and rebounds well. Showed a lot of versatility in her game, especially with her ability to guard nearly any position effectively. Smart player who just makes a lot happen overall.
Kayley Benningfield Kayley Benningfield 5'10" | PF Taylor County | 2027 State KY
5’10 | Guard/Forward | Taylor County HS | Richmond Heat
#227 – Really disruptive defensively. Guarded players well inside and out. Constantly got her hands on the ball and came up with steals. Really was one of the best defenders in every game I saw. Good ball handler. Effective fakes. Good length and she used that length well to grab rebounds off the rim. Ran the floor consistently. Great shooter with a quick release and very deep range. Very versatile player overall.
Riley Eberhard
5’10 | Guard/Forward | Notre Dame Academy | Midwest 3SSB
#228 – Excellent use of fakes to get defenders in the air or to get them to shift. Showed her ability to extend and knock down shots. Good moves on her drives and finished well on both sides of the rim. Showed versatility on both ends of the floor. Defended well inside and out. One of the hardest workers in the gym on Saturday.
