Here are some underrated 2025 prospects to watch.
Allie Shenloogian Allie Shenloogian 5'7" | CG Park Ridge | 2025 State NJ – CG, Park Ridge
Shenloogian dropped out of our top 25 heading into the 2023-24 season, not because she wasn’t spectacular on the floor, but with so much talent across the state, it becomes incredibly hard to put rankings together. That doesn’t discount her 21+ PPG and nearly four steals a game for Park Ridge last season. She’s most definitely caught our eye in recent years and is poised to repeat her success as a junior. Not everyone can wake up and score 20 points consistently like she can.
Tessa Lozner Tessa Lozner 5'7" | PG Gill St. Bernard's | 2025 State NJ – PG, Gill St. Bernard’s
Lozner has done a fantastic job at improvement this offseason and more specifically, this summer with United NJ AAU. Currently playing on their 17U Select team, she’s been exposed to some of the best talent in the region and the country, and she’s shown that she can play with the big dogs. While her high school stats don’t stand out quite the same as others, Lozner made massive strides as a sophomore, and is poised for a breakout junior season with GSB.
Aleena Dinker Aleena Dinker 5'6" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ – CG, St. John Vianney
Dinker benefitted greatly each of the last two seasons playing alongside guards like Zoe Brooks and Madison St. Rose, both now playing for prominent women’s college basketball programs. She now has Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ as a teammate, a high-profile transfer from Morris Catholic expected to be the heartbeat of the Lancers this season. Dinker will once again benefit from an incredibly talented teammate, but the door continues to open for her to improve as she’s done each of the past two seasons at SJV.
Giselle Davis Giselle Davis 6'0" | SF Bayonne | 2025 State NJ – SF, Bayonne
Bayonne’s journey to a NJSIAA Group IV title last season would not have happened without the growth of Davis as a forward. The Bees had a balanced team with tons of great players that contributed, but Davis found her worth down low, nearly averaging 9.4 PPG last season, more than 95 percent of that coming inside the arc. She’s become more vocal, more athletic and agile, and more poised, and that combination should lead to better play upcoming.
Tamia Smith Tamia Smith 5'7" | CG Glassboro | 2025 State NJ – CG, Glassboro
Smith is an incredibly interesting case as she’s played in less than 20 games a season for her first two high school seasons, but in that time, when she’s been on the floor, she’s an incredibly dominant force. A weak high school schedule has done her no favors, but that doesn’t take away too much from a 20.2 scoring average in 16 games, as well as nearly 3.7 steals a game. There still a ways to go for her game as we would like to see it more well-rounded, but the production is there, and the success is most definitely there.
