Continue ReadingPrep Girls Hoops New Jersey has officially updated its 2025 rankings, and we have some new and old faces in the mix, especially within our top 50. It was an incredibly competitive list of players, so do not let a ranking take away from just how good these players have been. With that being said, we do have to give our ranking, and that starts out with the top five 2025 prospects.
1. Mia Pauldo Mia Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – CG, Morris Catholic
For the second-straight year, Morris Catholic combo guard Mia Pauldo Mia Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ is the No. 1 player in our 2025 rankings, and it’s probably more than that at this point. She’s the focal point for the Crusaders and has been since her freshman year. She’s one of two nationally ranked players in the 2025 class from New Jersey, and her play speaks for itself. A college-ready guard, Pauldo is a playmaker, a leader, a dominant force on the court, and she’s still got two years left to ball out on the floor.
2. Mya Pauldo Mya Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – CG, Morris Catholic
Taking the No. 2 spot this time around is the other nationally ranked 2025 prospect in New Jersey, Mia’s sister Mya. Like Mia, Mya is playing above her years and is definitely ready for the next level already. While still being a main piece for Morris Catholic, Pauldo is more of a role player in the starting five, a backcourt staple with a complete skillset, great shooting, great passing, an incredible eye on the floor, and a high basketball IQ. Playing nationally ranked talent for so long has really turned her into a dominant force.
3. Daniella Matus Daniella Matus 5'10" | CG St. John Vianney | 2025 State NJ – CG, St. John Vianney
Matus was formerly the teammate of both Mia and Mya at Morris Catholic, but in a headline move, she transferred to the standard for girls basketball in New Jersey in recent years, St. John Vianney. What a perfect time to do it as star guard Zoe Brooks graduated in the spring, leaving a void needing to be filled. Who better to fill that than Matus, a college-ready guard who already has scouts eager to get her in their program. She’s poised for a massive junior season with the Lancers.
4. Gandy Malou-Mamel Gandy Malou-Mamel 6'6" | C Gill St. Bernard's | 2025 State NJ – PF, Gill St. Bernard’s
A new face to the top 10 and the top 50 in general, Malou-Mamel has shot up our leaderboards to the No. 4 player in the 2024 class because of her size, her stature, her success, and her college commitment. Players don’t commit to UConn, one of the two most storied women’s college basketball programs ever, without being incredibly good, and Malou-Mamel is just that. Standing at 6-5, she’s got plenty more to grow in her game as she gets her feet under her. Her raw talent and rapidly increasing ceiling is mind-boggling already.
5. Nila Giraud Nila Giraud 6'0" | PF Montclair Immaculate | 2025 State NJ – PF, Immaculate Conception Montclair
Giraud rounds out the top five for the 2025 class at No. 5, easily one of the best bigs that we’ve seen in this class, rivaling players like Malou-Mamel and others we’ll be talking about upcoming. She’s coming off her best season to date with Montclair IC, a double-double average with just under two blocks and two steals a game. However, she’s not your average forward because where she can dominate down low, she can knock down midrange and perimeter shots with ease. An intriguing two-way player with incredible promise.
