Continue ReadingEvery time we update the Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings there are some players who move up a little, some who move up a lot and a select few who take a flying leap up the ladder. Today, as we make our triannual changes to the Class of 2026 rankings, let’s begin with a look at the leapers.
THE 3 BIGGEST STOCK RISERS
+42 Jayda Wilson Jayda Wilson 5'9" | SF Eastview | 2026 State MN – The 5’9 forward from Eastview was a relative unknown entering the summer season, but spending time competing on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit will change a player’s profile if they do well. That’s exactly what the incoming sophomore from Minnesota Diamond Elite did. Jayda is solidly built and has gotten a lot stronger this year. She knows full well how to put those assets to good use as many a defender found out the hard way on the Circuit. We love her confidence, her tenacious rebounding, and her fearless shooting. And we love how hard she competes game in and game out. All of that earned Wilson an honorable mention in our AAU Newcomer of the Year chase. Now she merits a monumental 42-position rise in the rankings to #57.
+32 Izzy Guetzlaff Izzy Guetzlaff 5'10" | PF Red Wing | 2026 State MN – It’s confession time. The first couple of occasions when we watched the big forward from Red Wing play we weren’t all that impressed. Sorry, but sometimes that’s how it goes. After that, it was hard not to be pleased with what we were watching pretty much every time out. Maybe we were just blind in the beginning because Izzy’s got plenty of game. The 5’10 power forward has a big frame, a ton of strength and exactly the variety of physical presence you want from your post players when the traffic gets heavy in the paint. She competes inside, grabs more than her share of rebounds, and has a well-honed set of moves down low. Moving up 32 positions to #53, we’re atoning for our earlier sins and recognizing that Izzy is a player to reckon with.
+31 Mia Banks Mia Banks 5'10" | SF Mayo | 2026 State MN – The 5’10 forward from Rochester Mayo does a lot of things very well but we never get tired of watching her shoot it from the outside. Playing this summer for North Tartan Elite, the athletic sophomore let it fly with frequency and cashed in more often than not. There’s no telling how much better she can get as a sniper from where she’s already at. Mia is mobile and agile with nice size and strength. She puts in a ton of work and it has paid off in an improved set of overall skills. We watched Banks’ confidence grow over the course of the summer as Mia came to realize (as did the rest of us) that she is a rising star in the Class of 2026. Banks takes a leap of 31 positions to #67. Don’t be surprised if there are more jumps to come.
DOUBLE DIGIT STOCK RISERS
+14 Mirabel Wismer Mirabel Wismer 6'1" | SF Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2026 State MN – It has been a remarkable run for the lanky forward from Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Mira surprised most everyone last winter when she became a big-time contributor for the Red Knights as a freshman, playing an integral role in BSM’s run to the Class 3A state championship. The wiry 6’1 forward has a ton of length and knows how to put her giant wingspan to good use. She is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker who performs at a consistently high level. Next summer, she’ll move up to North Tartan ‘s EYBL squad where she’ll face the best of the best. Mira has earned a 14-position rise to #32.
+13 Taleigha Bigler Taleigha Bigler 5'9" | PG Marshall | 2026 State MN – Last winter the young point guard earned playing time for a veteran Marshall squad and she made the most of it, performing well enough to capture honorable mention status in our high school Newcomer of the Year race. Fast forward to summer ball and Bigler’s game positively flourished. Playing on the strong Minnesota Rise 2026 squad, Taleigha showed off her ample skill, athleticism and basketball intelligence on a regular basis. The 5’9 floor general is now drawing high-level collegiate interest and rightly so. She moves up 13 places to #38.
+13 Addison Ruda Addison Ruda 6'0" | PF Monticello | 2026 State MN & Abby Ruda Abby Ruda 6'0" | PF Monticello | 2026 State MN – The twins from Monticello made their presence known this summer. As they grew to top the 6-foot mark, their impact on the game grew, as well. As their skills continued to improve and the girls became more coordinated, their stock as college basketball prospects rose accordingly. Addy and Abby entered the rankings in June and have now risen 13 places to #70 and #71. Although Abby had a wrist injury that kept her sidelined for some time, that didn’t diminish the fact that forwards with height, length and skill are in short supply. Watch for these two to have a big winter.
+12 Kalli McGrane Kalli McGrane 5'6" | CG North St. Paul | 2026 State MN – The crafty guard, formerly of North St. Paul and now at Coon Rapids, demonstrated her capabilities again this past Sunday at the Breakdown Premier Fall League on behalf of her new high school. Last year we saw her play a prominent role in the resurgence of the Polars program. And this summer with FBC the 5’6 combo guard was every bit as good. McGrane is athletic with a college basketball build and a world of potential. Kalli rises 12 positions to #88, and she’s just getting started.
+11 Cassie Wegman Cassie Wegman 5'11" | SF Delano | 2026 State MN – The 5’11 forward from Delano had an outstanding summer with Fury Premier and enhanced her game substantially. Cassie has a good-sized frame and plenty of strength. As her skillset has grown, so has her ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Cassie is a strong rebounder who gets position, secures the ball with both hands and quickly moves it where it needs to go. The work ethic is consistent. The compete factor is high. The rewards are coming. Wegman rises 11 places to #66.
WHO MOVED UP IN THE TOP 20?
Our focus here has been on the biggest stock risers, the nine players who made a double-digit rise in their status as college basketball prospects. At the top end of the list the moves are more incremental, and not quite so dramatic, but important nonetheless. These are the five players who raised their stock in the Top 20:
#10 Tucker Downs Tucker Downs 5'11" | CG Mankato West | 2026 State MN – What a year it has been for the lengthy, graceful guard from Mankato West. Downs moves up one position and into the Top 10.
#14 Brooklyn Lewis Brooklyn Lewis 5'7" | PG New Ulm | 2026 State MN – The oh-so-elusive guard from New Ulm continues to wow us with her speed, quickness and ball-handling ability. She moves up one position to #14.
#15 Morgan Korf Morgan Korf 5'7" | PG Pelican Rapids | 2026 State MN – The well-seasoned point guard from Pelican Rapids made it obvious all summer why she is a D1 prospect. Korf, who’ll play on North Tartan ‘s EYBL team in 2024, is up one spot.
#16 Sinae Hill Sinae Hill 5'10" | SG Minnehaha Academy | 2026 State MN – It was a summer of success for the Minnesota Stars’ top 2026 unit and Sinae’s growth was a big reason why. The Minnehaha Academy guard rises three spots to #16.
#20 Madison Ohm Madison Ohm 5'9" | CG Byron | 2026 State MN – The uber-quick guard, formerly of Rochester Century and now playing in Byron, continued to do well against all comers and now moves up three notches to #20.
