Athleticism trumps skill in a lot of cases when it comes to recruiting and when you have both, it’s a can’t miss combination. Here are some of the most athletic players from the DMV Top 250 Expo.
Emorean is a good athlete with a very good handle. She was effective at both guard positions showing that she can find the cutters or score herself. Her speed made her tough to stay in front of. She had a nice runner in the lane keeping her touch at full speed to finish.
Norah attacked and attacked. Whether in transition or in the half court set she used her speed to gain a step on the defender which is all she needed to score. She stayed in control even when under duress which ultimately translated into being one of the best players of the day.
Amiyah covered the entire floor. She was active and was in virtually every play as she never stopped movement. She stood at a listed 5’4″ but with her elevation she was closer to a 5’9″ player. She had a good mid-range shot and 3-pointer and had no issues working herself open with or without the ball.

Jasiyah was gliding down the lane as if she was hanging from a string. She made some athletic shots and made plays on the defensive end as well. I didn’t get to see her jumper but with the touch she had in the lane I could imagine that it would translate into a nice shot from outside.
Tahmie was a terror on the defensive end. She brought energy to the floor from the beginning warm ups until the end of the showcase. She showed everyone that effort can go a long way and playing hard makes a difference.
