Continue ReadingAlthough some may quantify Michela as a forward, she is truly a position-less player. I would have no problem allowing her to see time at the 1-4 as she knows how to get buckets no matter where you play her at. Sunday, she spent time at the PG spot and I absolutely love her size at that position. She sees the floor very well, knows how to get others involved and she has so much length and athleticism. She excels as a shooter as she was able to step back and hit the jumper on multiple occasions and also hit shots from downtown. She has strong ball handling abilities and uses it to her advantage when she is attacking the lane. She also does a good job of using her size to shoot right over the top of defenders. She is an excellent rebounder and can be seen rebounding the ball, then taking it the length of the floor in transition. Michela can do it all and she is definitely worthy of garnering more attention on the recruitment trail going into her senior season.

Lauren truly stood out with her ability to efficently knock down the 18-20 foot jump shot Sunday. She also knocked down a three from the right elbow, showing off her range from distance. Her being able to stretch the floor opens up the lane for her teammates. Defenders will not be able to sag off of her which will likely give her opponents mismatch problems this season. Lauren also continues to be a very strong scorer in the paint and an above average rebounder who will attack the glass hard and dive after every loose ball. I love the way she can work herself into the paint off the pick and roll, making herself a solid target to feed the ball inside to. After an already impressive sophomore campaign, Lauren is sure is have a breakout junior season for Cox Mill based on the body of work she has put together this summer.

The Green Hope guard really turned a lot of heads Sunday as her size and ability to handle the ball was truly something to see. This lefty knows how to attack the lane hard and can to get to the free throw line. She is a player that will certainly leave coaches puzzled on how to defend her as she can blow by bigger defenders and shoot right over smaller defenders. She had solid day shooting the basketball as she was able to step and knock down the 3 ball. I also love her commitment to being able to rebound the basketball as she is a strong rebounder who knows how to follow up her shot for second chance opportunities. She is also a really good shot blocker and above average defender. She has very advanced level game that is sure to draw the eye of coaches in need of multi-positional players.

Jacquelyn Jakubecy
Jacquelyn is a player I am really excited to see more of at Hough High School in Cornelius, NC this season. She had a very good outing Sunday as she able to get on the offensive glass and hit the put back shot on multiple occasions. She moves very well in the lane. I like her in the pick and roll and I believe she can fair just as well in a pick and pop situation. She rolls very well off the screen straight to the basket in a straight line. She knows how to finish at the rim and has very solid hands around the basket. She is a very long defender and it is difficult for players to get shots over her outstretched arms. She will certainly contest everything wether in the paint or on the perimeter and she can step out to defend smaller guards. I expect Jacquelyn and the Lady Huskies to have a very big year this season..
