is another player who can expand the floor knocking down some big three pointers. She isn’t scared to do the tough things like diving on the floor for loose balls and drawing chargers gaining the possession for her team. She battles on the block against anyone using power dribbles to get into position, and she knows how to use her strength to grab rebounds.

Lauren has the entire package. She can score inside or out, and Farrell competes for her team. She can score with her back to the basket with a variety of moves. She can also step outside and knock down the three-pointer. When Farrell grabs a rebound, she has the offensive skill set to dribble the length of the floor to score or dish. Farrell has a great feel for the game. She knows when to score or when to drop a nice pass to a teammate.

Lauren Farrell uses her wide stance and height to battle against anyone in the paint. She is a force when it comes to getting rebounds on both ends of the court, and she is sure to score off of offensive rebounds. She runs the floor well being ready for the pass in transition to score some points, and she is sure to block some shots on the other end of the court.

I absolutely love the intensity that Lauren plays with every time she steps on the court. Lauren is certainly one of the team’s vocal leaders and a coach is never going to wonder if she’s giving everything she’s got. Lauren has steadily improved on her game over the last year and has proved to be very valuable in her ability to box out and rebound, run the floor and handle the ball in spurts. She is tough as nails inside and is not afraid to put a body on her opponent. Lauren is a very underrated shooter. She continues to show that she can step out and hit the 15 footer as well as the 3 ball. She is very engaged in what is happening on the floor and her constant activity can be very bothersome. A coach can always count on Lauren to give you solid, productive minutes each and every time she plays.

Lauren truly stood out with her ability to efficently knock down the 18-20 foot jump shot Sunday. She also knocked down a three from the right elbow, showing off her range from distance. Her being able to stretch the floor opens up the lane for her teammates. Defenders will not be able to sag off of her which will likely give her opponents mismatch problems this season. Lauren also continues to be a very strong scorer in the paint and an above average rebounder who will attack the glass hard and dive after every loose ball. I love the way she can work herself into the paint off the pick and roll, making herself a solid target to feed the ball inside to. After an already impressive sophomore campaign, Lauren is sure is have a breakout junior season for Cox Mill based on the body of work she has put together this summer.

When Farrell arrives at Cox Mill HS this weekend, she will have a home court advantage given she wears the teal and purple during the fall and winter months. Farrell stands at a towering 5-foot-11 and averaged 10.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in the 26 games she played last season for the Chargers. As those statistics display, she uses every bit of her near-six foot frame to her advantage as a high-percentage scorer and a rebounder. Prep Girls Hoops got a glimpse earlier this summer at the LBI Carolina Jam Fest and was one of our featured post players at last year’s Top 250 Expo.

Lauren worked extremely hard on both ends of the floor tonight. She is the kind of player that will risk everything just to get her team an extra possession. She had several plays where she was seen diving after loose balls. She brings a ton of energy to the floor and provided a huge boost defensively as she worked to keep the ball out of the paint.
