Opening day of the Girls TABC Showcase gave me a look at so many players I hadn't seen during the club season, no roster being available always has me moving to the next court, so that could have been part of it yet everything is so spread out with the countless platforms and I can't be EVERYWHERE and this is why I have SIMplified where I'll be right here

Always remember that I don't COPY what anyone else says regarding evaluations, not even the NATIONAL MEDIA GUYS who were there over 15 years ago, and here's why. My daughter was not given the proper recognition she deserved, primarily because I was outspoken and called them out yet almost a decade in the WNBA later, I was right and please remember I have NO AGENDA or ties to ANYONE so here ya go

Destiny Hernandez-5'3 CG (San Antonio Warren) 2025

Hernandez falls into one of many hashtags I love to use and that's #sizedontmatter because she can play. I didn't realize she could shoot it the way she did but I kept hearing fans while I was in another gym so I had to be nosy. She does a good job of creating her shot under pressure and knocks it down with a hand in her face yet her "catch and shoot" from BTA. She also handled the ball in traffic, attacked the basket to score, and saw the floor

Mia Brown-Renteria-6'2 C (San Antonio Warren) 2026

Brown-Renteria used her body well around the basket, on both ends. She did a good job rebounding and getting the break going plus she scored on putbacks. She also gave me a glimpse of the "hands and footwork" which got her some easy shots in the paint and she finished strongly after contact. She also faced the basket to score a few times, nice upside

Camary Jackson-5'7 G (Anderson Shiro) 2025

Jackson is an athletic guard who uses her athleticism well on both ends of the court, always a huge plus, and when you factor in baseline-to-baseline "on the ball" defense, what more could you ask for? Well, she dives on the floor for loose balls, in fact, she battles for loose balls and plays the passing lane. She understands how to control the tempo, she's heady, sees the floor, makes good decisions, and scores off the dribble

Izari Soto-5'5 G (Laredo South) 2027

Soto handled the ball with ease under pressure and that's in the set as well as in the open court while being defended so watching her see the floor in transition immediately grabbed my attention. She also set the defender up in the half-court to get her shot off or used a deceptive first step to attack the basket, slight HEZ was a problem for the defender

Lorall Bookout-5'7 G ( Salado) 2024

Bookout showed me several chapters in a short span of time as I was teleporting between multiple gyms trying to see as much as I could. I usually call those my "two-minute warnings" so watching her not only create her shot under pressure but knock it down while being defended had me smiling. She also showed the pull-up jumper in transition and the stop-and-pop is something I enjoy seeing

[player_tooltip player_id='1090631' first='Chanice' last='Jones']-5'7 G (Magnolia West) 2025

Jones was another athletic guard who used that athleticism on the offensive and defensive end and her defense was smothering at times as it helped to cause turnovers. She also did a good playing the passing lane which I love to see, I think I've mentioned that. She has a nice first step, attacks the basket strongly off the dribble and finished after contact

[player_tooltip player_id='839220' first='Jasmine' last='Travis']-6'4 (Cibolo Steele) 2027

Travis is long and athletic as well as tall and her standing over the magic number, which is 6'0, will automatically place her on the "short list" of many college coaches in the country. Her being a freshman is "icing on the cake" and with a high ceiling, there's no telling where she will land. She rebounds, on both ends, scores around the basket, and runs the floor however her timing gave the offensive player something to think about and that, as well as her defense, was solid
