Honestly, every player deserves some recognition for the “show” that they put on as they worked through the drills and scrimmaged. It was a high-energy (mostly because of the Langston U players) event that I’m already looking forward to attending again in the near future. Thanks, again for having me out!

Denver plays like one of those players that is angry that you would dare possess the ball on their half of the court. She wants that ball and if she can’t have that ball, you’re going to be miserable the whole time you have it. Her suffocating defense was one of the most fun things to watch at Langston on Sunday and the crowd, her team, and the Langston players were all getting pumped up by her effort. If there had been actual refs, I think she would have earned several five-second calls for her squad. No slouch on the offensive end, she’s got tremendous handles and excelled in all of the drills. But, her defense was worth using all of this column space on. She’s dedicated to it and it is going to win some college coach somewhere a lot of games.
Speaking of defense, let’s talk about Paishintz. She was another player on Sunday that made life miserable for the opposing team’s ball-handler. She is a very smart player who is dedicated on the defensive end and does all of the little things that a coach could want out of a player. All of the effort plays were there from Paishintz. Once the ball was turned over to her team, which happened a lot thanks to the pressure she provided, Booker was lightning quick up the court and showed a really good ability to finish on the offensive end. She finished through a lot of contact and made her free throws. I saw her score from multiple levels as the day went on, but really, defense was Paishintz’s calling card.

She wasn’t feeling the greatest when she showed up, but if this is how she performs in scrimmages while being a little under the weather, I can’t even imagine what she must play like at full speed and feeling 100%. It was clear to see in the five on five portion of the evaluations that Teairra was a leader, as she was a coach on the floor and did a good job of working with her teammates to force a lot of turnovers. She is very quick, but controlled with the ball in her hands and has, not just good handles, but smart handles. This senior season at Moore will be a big one for her and I can’t wait to see how it all goes. I’ll definitely be down there to watch a game or two.
Speaking of seniors that absolutely put on a show on Sunday, Addison Harris Addison Harris 5’5″ | CG Luther | 2024 State OK did not disappoint. She was a leader in everything that she did out there. Some may wonder why you have seniors come out to evals in the first place, but it was clear to see why someone like Addison would be there. She is an extension of the coach on the floor. She understands the game and the intent of the staff and she makes things happen out there. Yes, she can shoot the lights out, but more than that, she controls the tempo of the game and is able to keep everybody calm and under control. A lot of the young kids just want to run, run, run. That’s ok. That’s what kids do. But, the more you mature in the game, the more you learn that “all out, all the time” kind of just leads to more turnovers. Addison is patient and smart, and she is going to be an integral part of some college teams’ dynamic come next season.
Highlights
Annie is always gonna stand out in whatever basketball situation you put her in. She can’t help but to. She has a gregarious personality. She is ultra athletic and competitive. On top of all of that, she has the skills to go along with the will to win. You can’t help but notice Dawson’s natural athleticism, as simple things like jumping for a rebound and passing the ball up-court are made to look easy with her effortless style. She has played a lot of basketball and it is clear to see that it has become second nature. Not having to over think it out there has led Annie to become a fluid player with the ball in her hands and someone who can seemingly score at will. Better yet, she constantly works to make the players around her better, and come next year, I have no doubt that she will be making a college coach very happy with her ability to do just that!
