I enjoy scouting events in this format because I get to see players that I don’t get to see play very often or have not seen at all. It’s a great way to get my eye’s on the “hidden gems” and the ones who have improved since the last time I watched them compete.
Below I have highlighted the prospects that stood out to me during this event.
Highlights
Jakiah Mitchell Jakiah Mitchell 5'10" | C Bowling Green | 2024 State KY did a good job using her size and strength to box out for rebounds or to gain position to score in the post. Mitchell also showed off her range by stepping out and hitting a three-pointer.
Highlights
Danielle Jones Danielle Jones 5'8" | SG Martha Layne Collins | 2025 State KY was super effective in transition. She used her speed and long-stride to get up the court in a hurry, giving her wide open layups the other way. Jones played aggressive on offense as well, constantly attacking the basketball for points at the rim.
Highlights
Sheridan Miller Sheridan Miller 5'1" | SG Bullitt Central | 2024 State KY impacted the game on offense and defense. She is jet-quick and has some serious handles, including a hesitation move that allowed her to blow past defenders to score inside. Miller is also a knock-down shooter from deep and a tenacious on-ball defender.
Highlights
Skylar Thompson has good size and she used it to her advantage being physical in the paint. She set solid screens. Showed good mobility, getting up and down the floor. Can also make shots within 10-15 feet.
Elizabeth Marriot is a lethal left-hand scorer that can really fill up a stat sheet. She scored the first 8 points in Game 4 when Team 5 matched up against Team 7. She rebounds well for a guard and shows a high IQ on the court.
