Shooting guards are some of the most prolific offensive players in basketball, while also being menacing defensively, and such is the case in New Jersey. Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey recently released its 2025 rankings, so within that update, here are the top five shooting guards in the 2025 class.
No. 1: Ella Kreuzer Ella Kreuzer 5'10" | SG Chatham | 2025 State NJ – Chatham (No. 13 overall)
The Chatham duo begins with Kreuzer, a dynamic guard with great range on her shot and a quick release that many cannot replicate or get to in time to defend. Her quick trigger when she gets open is a big reason why she essentially ran the show for the Cougars last season along with Riley Allen. Kreuzer will be the person up top with Semioli this season and knowing her maturity level through her first two high school seasons, she’s more than ready to be the player in the spotlight above all.
No. 2: Mia Semioli Mia Semioli 5'9" | SG Chatham | 2025 State NJ – Chatham (No. 18 overall)
Semioli has faced the ringer of teams at the high school level, last season alone playing a number of state championship caliber opponents. She’s not just played, but she’s competed and dominated with the best of them, developing well as a guard who can truly shoot lights-out with the lights shine brightest, and someone who’s really put some time in the gym to turn into a superstar-level talent. We’ve enjoyed watching her, and watching her grow, and this is really just the beginning for her basketball career.
No. 3: Katie Reiner Katie Reiner 5'8" | SG Becton | 2025 State NJ – Becton (No. 19 overall)
Reiner is no joke in New Jersey, easily one of the best shooting guards we’ve seen come through the state in some years, and someone more than deserving of a top-5 SG ranking in the 2025 class. There may have not been a more efficient shooter in the state last season as she hit 3.8 three-pointers a game, averaging 20.8 PPG in 27 games. She’s a prolific three-point shooter at this point, and that success will only continue to climb in time.
No. 4: Taylor Francis Taylor Francis 5'8" | SG Pingry | 2025 State NJ – Pingry (No. 28 overall)
A multi-sport athlete and a fantastic basketball player, Francis turned things up a notch in a big way for Pingry last season, averaging nearly 17 points a game with 45 made three-pointers. In her career, she’s knocked down 97, just a few away from 100 in her career, but it’s far from just her shooting that makes her a threat. She can feed her teammates with the best of them, she’s been a great defender throughout her high school tenure, and she plays with a level of confidence unseen by many.
No. 5: Janaya Meyers Janaya Meyers 5'8" | SG Bayonne | 2025 State NJ – Bayonne (No. 33 overall)
If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best and have some of the best players on your roster. Meyers knew the mission from the time she transferred to Bayonne before last season, and wow, did she relish in the opportunity to succeed. Meyers was an all-around great guard, able to shoot, able to drive, able to pass, rebound, defend, quite literally do anything that was asked of her. She plays aggressive, she plays to win, and she’ll do just about anything to get there, possessing the mentality of a warrior, a champion.
