Small forward is a tricky position to categorize, but we’ve certainly tried our best to do so in this article. Here are the five best small forwards in New Jersey for our updated Class of 2025 rankings.
No. 1: Charlotte Tuhy Charlotte Tuhy 6'0" | SF Madison | 2025 State NJ – Madison (No. 8 overall)
The first player to discuss in this article is a top-10 player in our updated rankings, a fantastic piece in Charlotte Tuhy Charlotte Tuhy 6'0" | SF Madison | 2025 State NJ , and she’s been doing this for two years running at this point. She’s an all-county player, an all-division player and an all-conference player, doing it at the highest level and dominating at that. For United NJ during the AAU season, Tuhy has been a must-watch prospect, and the fact that she nearly doubled her scoring average in one season is wild.
No. 2: Leah Crosby Leah Crosby 6'1" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2025 State NJ – Rutgers Prep (No. 16 overall)
Crosby, a big piece for the Trojans last season and easily one of the most exciting forwards/bigs in the state, made considerable strides as a sophomore for STA. A raw prospect with untapped, unproven talent, was refined very much so, and in doing so, made her all the more prepared for what’s to come at Rutgers Prep. It was big news when she announced her transfer, but the best players go to the best schools to play the best competition, and that’s exactly what Crosby did.
No. 3: Kayla Butler Kayla Butler 5'7" | SF Payne Tech | 2025 State NJ – Payne Tech (No. 27 overall)
We were incredibly impressed with what we saw from Butler last season for Payne Tech. It was a breakout year for her in a big way, a great offensive season with plenty of room to grow, as well as consistent success on the defensive side of the basketball. Her free throw shooting, sitting around 80 percent, is a massive plus as she’s put in the time to not only make herself more physical to draw fouls, but to make sure those fouls count at the line.
No. 4: Qui-Mia Wilkins Qui-Mia Wilkins 5'7" | SF Pemberton | 2025 State NJ – Pemberton (No. 36 overall)
We didn’t truly get to see the full side of Wilkins last season for Pemberton as she missed nearly the entire season after playing just six games for the Hornets. However, the difference of her on the floor versus her not on the floor was felt almost immediately, and will be all the more important for next season. Wilkins showcased the kind of player she can be as a freshman, a solid offensive piece anchored by stellar defense, but a fully healthy junior season will go a long way for her.
No. 5: Nora Ausland Nora Ausland 5'10" | SF Pennsville | 2025 State NJ – Pennsville (No. 44 overall)
The last player we’ll discuss in this article is one that had limited playing time as a sophomore due to injury, but she balled out. Ausland was a ominant offensive player for Salem, averaging just under 15 points a game with a skillset unrivaled in the Tri-County Conference. One of a select few 2025 prospects from South Jersey in the Top 50, the now-Pennsville prospect has range, length, intelligence, grit and determination on the floor, an all-out desire to win and dominate.
