Continue ReadingA lot of camps bring in players with some advanced billing and everyone already knows who they are before they even step into the gym. Other players just do a lot of stuff so that they can get noticed whether for the good or not. But then there are players that you really need to pay attention to everyone on the court and they just jump at you a bit and the more you watch the more you like. These players are the ones that fly under the radar and some tips to get them above radar.
Isabel Studart
Isabel Studart
Isabel was fundamentally sound and had a great looking shot in the drills. She was able to execute every move given and as the skill work got more advanced she had no problem with the transition. Looking to thrive early or getting in the gym before everyone will make her stand out more as the focus would be on her.
Nancy Ngalieu
Nancy Ngalieu
Nancy has nice size, she is a forward with a decent set shot. I think she could be very effective as a wing as she has the tools in place. As a forward she can be a solid contributor in high school. Continuing to do the little things like diving for loose balls, going all out on defense will make her indispensable to her team.
Olivia has the agility and frame to be a multi-sport athlete. She gets up and down the floor and makes open shots. She showed to be a good teammate finding open players and moving the ball around. She was in some one on one situations where I believe she could have made a play for herself but looked for teammates to get the ball to. She has the ability to be the go to player if she chooses, right now I see a hidden gym that can flourish in the right situation.
Maya Derrick
Maya Derrick
Maya is skilled as she showed in the drills. Confidence seems to be the key for her to transition her drill work into actual game situations. She should trust her fundamentals as they are sound and look for opportunities to execute. She can use these camp type environments to try out some new things.
Brooklyn Madison
Brooklyn Madison
Brooklyn has good drill handles that translate into game moves. She is only 5’4″ but uses her quickness to create space for her shot. She tied her shirt which made it impossible to see her number and in certain events this can get her overlooked so she should be careful of that. If she performs as she did at the SGGS it should be an issue as coaches will make extra effort to get her number.
Emerson Kneisley
Emerson Kneisley
Emerson was playing above her grade level to the point she was asked to move up and compete with the middle school kids in the breakout groups. She fit right in with the older plyers. She should be listed as one of the top players in her class if she just continues to stay on her current track.

Sophia has a nice looking shot and played solid throughout. She has good speed and can handle the ball well. Her elevation and shot off the dribble is at high school level. Information on the roster was incomplete so I don’t have her team information yet, that is something that players can’t always control but it is important as they get into tournaments where college coaches rely on roster information.
