Top 250 EXPO: Team 1 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sunday September 3rd I attended the Arizona&nbsp;<strong>TOP 250 EXPO&nbsp;</strong>at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched all five teams play twice and this is how they performed when they were on the main court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here are the Team 1 Standouts:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='755552' first='Naliyah' last='Guidry'] Mesquite</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick pure point guard has some serious jets with the ball in her hands. She is tough on the ball defensively, as she is quicker then most. She will drive and kick it to a teammate and uses the pick and roll to her advantage. Her speed allows her to get to the paint and she will make her FT's when she gets fouled.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='754692' first='Keira' last='Lewis'] Canyon View</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A wing forward who is a good three point shooter off the catch with a quick release. She cuts when she should and plays with a big IQ for the game. She is tough on the ball defensively to collect steals and can score in heavy traffic thru contact.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='754594' first='Erin' last='Gordon'] Chaparral</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good sized wing has a quicker burst to dribble drive to the basket. Shes scores with runners in the lane or layups. She will make contested shots and plays an unselfish brand of ball. She is a good passer who will drive and kick it and is a good communicator in the huddle as a leader.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='570445' first='Laila' last='Bowens'] El Camino Real Charter/CA</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A talented junior guard from Cali shined. She scored and defended every top opposing player. She has a good FT stroke and can drill the deep three off the catch. She will attack the basket with either hand using her incredible first step of speed.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='721399' first='Isabella' last='Cerniglia'] Xavier Prep (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled combo guard with a good handle. The lefty can let it fly from the three point line off the catch and definitely plays the game from the neck up. She will make the extra pass to get a better shot and can score off the dribble to create her own offense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205684' first='Kristen' last='Valdez'] Sahuaro</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring lead guard will be one of the stock risers in the senior class. She was easily one of the top shooters at the showcase. She can rattle in triples off the catch with deep range and consistency. She has picture perfect form and can create necessary space to get her shot off with her handle. She rebounds out of area despite her size and can also get to the basket easily with a ball fake.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sydnee Patterson F 5'9 2024 South Sevier/UT</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A Utah native came down to compete and did just that. She had one of the top motors of the showcase and grabbed rebounds in and out of her area. She scores it in the post with euros and will block shots and fight versus taller players. She has a nice touch on FT and was always hustling on defense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='754694' first='Adyson' last='Lundberg'] Desert Mountain</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A taller sophomore power forward sets strong pick and rolls to the basket to score. She can face-up to 10-feet and in and has a good frame to absorb the contact.
