2024 Rankings: Top Point Guards

Some have been leading their teams since they began high school, and some had to wait their turn. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Here I take a look at just a few of the best in the class. </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='203873' first='Shay' last='Ijiwoye'] <strong>Desert Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Shay knows what her strengths are, and she plays to them. Excellent change of pace, court vision, and knowledge of how to keep the defender at a distance are just a few of her major attributes. It should be a fun senior season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='205638' first='Dominique' last='Nesland'] <strong>Xavier</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dom is another guard who uses her body well to keep the defense guessing. She is a good decision-maker and plays with a passion that carries over to the rest of her teammates. She is as competitive as any player in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='591097' first='Gal' last='Raviv'] [program_tooltip program_id='713210' first='Bella' last='Vista Prep'] </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gal burst on the prep scene and just continues to get better. She plays at a very good pace and is never sped up by the defense. She should be even better this season after adjusting to the speed of the game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='205646' first='Eanae' last='Dagons'] <strong>Desert Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dagons is a downhill point guard who thrives in the open court. She loves to push the tempo and put constant pressure on the defense. There are not many in the class who are faster than Eanae with the ball in her hands. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='205645' first='Meisha' last='Caserio'] <strong>Gilbert (Featured Image)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Meisha is the type of point guard that any coach would want. She leads by example, and her sole purpose is to lead her team to the win. She has excellent court awareness and takes exactly what the defense gives her. She's an excellent passer and is just as good on the defensive end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
