Davis showed me enough at the Houston Christian camp and I was surprised I hadn’t seen her before, and that could be for a number of reasons yet she stands just under “the magic number” which is 6’0 however she plays as if she’s already there. College coaches love big guards that can shoot, also for a number of reasons and her understanding how to not only create her shot but knock it down while being defended was very nice. She also mixed it up and scored off the dribble, even scored around the basket, putbacks included and yes, she rebounded on both ends
Biscette is one of those players that was good when I first caught her yet kept getting better and one thing I say over and over is that I love progression. It helps that she’s a long and athletic guard, that can handle the ball and see the floor both in the set as well as in transition. It also helps that she can blow by defenders, in the set as well as the open court because those things give her options to keep the defender guessing. She elevates on her jumper and drops it from min to long-range, with a hand in her face and her “on the ball” defense is also tough
Highlights
Thompson was one of the “top clutch performers” on the PGH Circuit this past season and her taking on a larger scoring role because of an injury to Taylor Spencer Taylor Spencer 5’8″ | PG Cleveland | 2024 State TX , Thompson accepted the role and was impressive. She’s a powerful guard that can punish the defender on both ends, off the dribble she finishes strongly after contact and her smothering defense helps to create turnovers yet watching her create her shot in the set and drop it while being closely guarded is special. She also can nail the “stop and pop” in transition, mid to long-range and she not only wants the ball down the stretch, she delivers
Duhon was another player that I caught numerous times on the club circuit and I have a saying that many will never absorb “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” and her shooting the ball and dropping it effortlessly at the Heart Of Texas had me energized to make that climb out of the AT&T Center. She’s patient and sets the defender up to take “good shots” but her deceptive first step to attack the basket is a huge plus because she can score off the dribble with it, or use it for the step back. She also does a good job of curling off the pick and dropping it, plus she also showed a very nice “catch and shoot” every time I saw her
Harris is one of countless players in Texas that I haven’t seen yet who can actually play at the next level and what immediately grabbed me about her game was her “SWAG” and “poise under pressure”. She plays for a school in a smaller classification yet when you’re a REAL EVALUATOR that knows what they’re looking at, it was easy to see what she brought to the table against a very talented squad, again “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against”. Her mid to long-range jumper was almost automatic, she created her shot and knocked it down under pressure but she also scored off the dribble and saw the floor. Her not getting flustered by the heat kept her team in the game
