Abigail O’Connor Abigail O’Connor 5'3" | PG Shawnee Mission Northwest | 2026 State KS , 5’3″, Shawnee Mission Northwest – Leading the list of debuting point guards in the class at #59 is “Abby” O’Connor. I got to see O’Connor at the The End Game event in Wichita at the end of July. A solidly built heady, good floor leader what I liked best about her game was her passing. She has a good sense of where her teammates are to make the right kind of pass. O’Connor anticipates where to go with the ball, which enables even her perimeter passes to be of the no-look type on the perimeter. As her first step gets quicker and her perimeter shooting improves there is no question O’Connor will climb quickly.
Riley Kerwin Riley Kerwin 5'3" | PG St. James Academy | 2025 State KS , 52″, St. James Academy – Kerwin is the first of two Thunder players debuting. I first saw her McPherson’s Mid America Classic tournament last April. Kerwin showed good quickness, speed with the ball including on finishes, and that she is a solid threat beyond the arc. She comes in at #62.
Jersi Benisch Jersi Benisch 5'2" | PG Wallace County | 2026 State KS , 5’3″, Wallace County – Benisch returns from a stellar freshman season where she was a big driver behind the Wildcats reaching the the state tournament. She averaged 13.6 points and 3.9 steals per game. The #100 debuter earned KBCA 1A Div II honorable mention and Northwest Kansas League second team honors following the season.
Avery Mauck Avery Mauck 5'6" | PG Hoxie | 2026 State KS , 5’6″, Hoxie – On a strong Indian team that returns 6/7 top players Mauk averaged 4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.6 assists with a solid 1.2 assists-to-turnovers rate on a team that was bounced right out of the 2A state tournament gate by eventual champion Berean Academy. Important will be her shooting percentage to improve from the line and the arc to open things up inside. Mauck debuts at #102.
Rylee Myers Rylee Myers 5'8" | PG Dighton | 2026 State KS , 5’8″, Dighton – Myers joins at #103. With the loss of two all-league players and several seniors Myers will be counted upon to provide leadership for a Hornet team that won 6 games in 2023. While the 3.5 turnovers per game were not pretty Myers can be expected to put up far more numbers than the 2.7 points, 2 rebounds, and less than 1 steal and assist.
Alyssa Schoeneck Alyssa Schoeneck 5'2" | PG Tonganoxie | 2026 State KS , Tonganoxie – Schoeneck is a quick guard with a nice ability to spot up. She can hit the three ball from a variety of spots and attack in transition with athleticism. Debuting at #104 I will be looking for her to speed up her perimeter release.
