The Class of 2024 is getting ready to begin the last Winter of their high school careers, as teams are two weeks away from their first official practices for the 2023-2024 season. Last week, we released our updated rankings for 2024. We did not expand the list at all, so there is still a Top-100 and a watch list of another 125 prospects, forming a total of 225 members of the Class of 2024 listed on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. This quarter is more of a maintenance update heading into the high school season, but we will expand the list one final time around Christmas. Below, I wanted to highlight all of the centers in the class who we currently have listed, as well as highlight a handful of ladies who stood out throughout the Summer and early Fall.

SUMMER/FALL STOCK-RISERS:

– I’ve always been a fan of Journee’s, and part of it is because she always works hard, and she has continually improved her game. She has a solid to strong frame, broad shoulders, and nice length. She is probably most comfortable around the block, because she can use her physicality to establish position. But she has soft hands, nice touch, and she can consistently knock down a 15-foot jumper. Defensively, she plays with effort, and she will block some shots.

– Madelyn is very intriguing, as she is extremely long and somewhat bouncy. She has a wiry-strong frame, broad shoulders, and she moves around the floor fairly well. She plays with a nice motor, she will pursue rebounds, plus she will protect the paint defensively. Offensively, she has a little touch to about 12-feet, and that’s what has continued to improve is her offense. She is a part of a deep frontcourt at Washington, but she could be very impactful this season.

– Dakota is still somewhat of a “wait-and-see” prospect, because she looks like she has recently finished growing, and she’s just starting to get stronger and figure out what talents she possesses. She does play with a nice motor, though, and she has solid skill around the paint. She runs the floor well North/South, and she has even shown some bounce at times. I think she will even be more impactful in college, once she takes her abilities and becomes more efficient.

– Alexis is an intimidating frontcourt presence who I think will be very good at the next level. She needs to continue tightening her skillset and getting more comfortable with her right hand (she’s a lefty), but she is a strong, powerful front-liner who can bully her way around the paint and finish through contact consistently. She is a box-out rebounder, she drives people back away from the paint, but she also runs the floor well and has some bounce to her.
