Yesterday, I talked about some unknown kids that I admired through last season. Today, we'll talk about some kids you may know but could have big seasons in store in 2023-24.

[player_tooltip player_id='448247' first='Megan' last='Johnson']

After leading her Panthers team to a state tournament last season, Johnson's frontcourt partner is no longer at West Salem. Things will be different. However, Johnson has the talent to step up and take a more prominent role for the Panthers. She's a multi-level scorer and has shown her capabilities to do that in an AAU setting for [program_tooltip program_id='715882' first='Wisconsin' last='Flight Elite'] in the EYBL. Now that she's the main focus for the Panthers, she'll have the freedom to get into her comfort zone and help maximize what the Panthers could be this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='209902' first='Kallie' last='Peppler']

I talked about Peppler recently, but Kallie may be the difference in taking Hortonville from a state title contender to a state title favorite. The positional versatility she brings on both ends of the floor is nearly impossible for 99.9% of teams to account for, and she becomes a Swiss army knife kind of kid who can win all the minor battles in each game. She can defend one through five at the high school level, score off the dribble and beyond the three-point line, and seems to have the respect of everyone she's ever come into contact with. Don't underestimate what her presence could do for Hortonville and D1.

[player_tooltip player_id='521878' first='Noelle' last='Anthon']

By seeing how Anthon improved this past summer, I fear I still might be underrating how good she could be at the next level. She has the size at 6-2, runs the floor like a guard, and makes some post moves I haven't seen kids going D1 make over the past few years. I can't urge people to watch her enough because the more I look at some of the films she put out over the past summer, she could be the steal of the class. Anthon could end up as one of the best post players in this class by the time it's all said and done.

[player_tooltip player_id='520310' first='Ella' last='Carstensen']

Hudson had an excellent class come through with their 2022s and reloaded with a solid 2024 class, highlighted by wings like [player_tooltip player_id='520312' first='Olivia' last='Grothaus'] and Carstensen. The 5-11 wing is a physical presence who's equally comfortable playing in the paint as she is on the perimeter. People in Wisconsin may not have seen her much because Carstensen's from western Wisconsin and played AAU in Minnesota. She has positional versatility, rebounds the ball well, scores in the paint, can pass it, and is someone people have enjoyed playing with. Any program that lands her services would enjoy having her around daily and will appreciate what she brings on the floor.
