Here is my look at some of the top teams in the state of New York. These teams are all must see this coming season.

South Shore

The state champs return a loaded and talented roster that is extremely coached. Led by top prospect [player_tooltip player_id='384798' first='Ariel' last='Little'], and [player_tooltip player_id='413552' first='Isabela' last='Grant'] in the post. South Shore can get after it on the offensive end, and can beat you at all three levels. They play outstanding team defense, look to create turnovers on the perimeter and push the tempo on the break for easy buckets. On the offensive side of the ball, South Shore plays an unselfish style of basketball that emphasize ball movement and taking high % shots. They can light it up on the perimeter and bulldoze their way in paint for easy buckets. On the offensive end, they have great depth and can score in numbers with the likes of Yahmani Mackayle, Makayla Moore, and [player_tooltip player_id='413644' first='Natalia' last='Williams']. They should be the favorites to repeat and pose the biggest threat to dethrone LuHi as the best team in New York.

Long Island Lutheran

The Crusaders are led by reigning state player of the year [player_tooltip player_id='382696' first='Kate' last='Koval'], [player_tooltip player_id='857368' first='Syla' last='Swords'], and [player_tooltip player_id='413880' first='Madison' last='Francis']. They are well coached and play to their strenghts with a system that is designed around their individual skill sets. They play a physical style, up tempo, and will attack you at all three levels on the offensive end. They fell short in their quest to become national champs losing to Montverde Academy last season but return with even more depth and talent. Look for them to make another run at the National Title this season falling short last season. They are loaded again this season.

Christ the King

Christ the King are led by top sophomore center [player_tooltip player_id='866397' first='Olivia' last='Vukosa'] and senior transfer [player_tooltip player_id='472780' first='Lauryn' last='Swann'], and many believe there is reason to believe this season. Well coached and physical by one of the best coaches in New York, Coach Mackey, the system in place will look to utilize the rare combination of size, athelticism, skill, and attention that Vukosa brings that will open things up for her teammates to make an impact. Swann will look to get out in transition and spearhead the attack. On the defensive end, there are pillars in place for this team to be suffocating on the perimeter and in the paint. They are coming off a season where many feel like they underperformed. The expectations should be high this season and for good reason.
