I had a chance to watch all of the teams multiple times, I’ll have evaluations on each squad, as well as my picks for the All-Tournament, The Shooters, and The GLUE squads coming up yet while watching the teams, several players did little things that I love to see which start or stop runs and one thing I love about basketball is when I see shifts in the momentum because that gets my adrenaline going so here the GAME CHANGERS
Haylee Rivers Haylee Rivers 5'7" Manor | 2025 TX -5’7 G (Manor) MP Elite [2025]
Rivers is a “long and athletic” guard which is also part of the base but her “on the ball” defense helped spark her team, as well as watching her going after loose balls both off the rim and on the floor. She attacked the basket in a variety of ways, nice HEZ as well as spin moves but her twisting layups using nice body control were solid, and so was her pull-up jumper
Cassidy Gladney-5’8 G (Lake Belton) Competitive Edge [2024]
Gladney fits into so many articles I’m dropping yet she just did a variety of things to get her team going. Her ability to create her shot and drop it from mid to long-range stood out, so was were scoring off the dribble, yet her court vision both in the set as well as in transition, got her teammates easy looks. Her defense was also huge as she came away with steals
Lindsey Vlasak Lindsey Vlasak 6'0" | SG Memorial Senior | 2025 TX -6’0 (Spring Branch Memorial) Just Play UA Rise 16U [2025]
Vlasak showed she could make things happen without scoring and her being “long and athletic” which is still the base sort of sets up her eval. She showed the “hands and footwork” around the basket to score, and she rebounded on both ends but her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots as well as her interior defense was nice. She also showed she could nail the midrange
Makayla Ellison Makayla Ellison 5'10" | SF Frisco Memorial | 2025 State TX -5’10 (Frisco Memorial) Team Strive Blue [2025]
Ellison is “long and athletic” so you know what that means and with a variety of intangibles to go with that has her upside high. She’s a couple of inches shy of “the magic number” which is 6’0 and her first step created major problems when she attacked and finished. She also dropped the jumper, did a good job of rebounding on both ends, and blocked some shots, but her court vision needs to be mentioned as well
Sophia Semmier-5’10 F (Fulshear) Airtime Elite [2025]
Semmier hasn’t been in front of me since her 8th-grade season and watching her transformation from a back-to-the-basket player to someone that could drop it from outside was nice. She showed the banker from a couple of angles, she rebounded and went coast to coast to score or dish, and she even defended in and outside the paint, on the ball. She also did what I love to see, played the passing lane
Aaliyah Williams Aaliyah Williams 5'7" | CG St Agnes Academy | 2025 State TX -5’7 G (St Agnes) 2025
Williams has been on my radar since right before entering high school and her being a “long and athletic” guard with quick heads and playing solid defense were pluses for her team. She scored off the dribble however she wanted, with a slight HEZ as well as a deceptive first step that played a part yet her body control on her finishes after contact has gotten better. She also saw the floor and made good decisions
Jevan Collier Jevan Collier 5'11" | PF Frisco Memorial | 2026 State TX -5’11 F ( Frisco Memorial) Team Takeover [2026]
Collier showed impressive interior defense each time I watched her and she understands how to use her powerful frame inside on both ends of the court. She caught my eye last season at a holiday tournament and her improvement from then had me smiling as she’s handling the ball with confidence to score off the the dribble and she’s also showing she can drop the mid to long-range
Maddie Peiffer Maddie Peiffer 5'7" | SG Round Rock | 2026 State TX -5’7 G (Round Rock) Phoenix Gold [2026]
Peiffer did several little things to stir up the pot like coming up with big steals to stop the momentum or even knocking the ball away for a steal to help start it. She also battled for rebounds against taller players yet her poise under pressure just grabbed as she shot the ball well with a hand in her face from outside and she also did a good job scoring off the dribble and seeing the floor
