With a lineup of Macomb Dakota, Bloomfield Hills, Marian, Detroit Country Day, and Utica Ford, what else could a scout want? Of the four games I saw, here are the prospects who kept me engaged throughout the day.
Today was 2024 Jaidyn Elam Jaidyn Elam 5’9″ | CG Detroit Country Day | 2024 State MI ‘s day. She dominated on the court for Detroit Country Day, earning the Fall Ball MVP award. Jaidyn showed off her strength and explosiveness on both sides of the ball. Jaidyn drained multiple wing 3’s and terrorized the competition jumping passes for steals, battling on the boards, and scoring at all three levels. She did exactly what you’d expect from a D1 college prospect: dominate. Jaidyn will be an exciting prospect to see this season for a stacked Country Day squad.
2025 CG Molly McLeod Molly McLeod 5’5″ | CG Marian | 2025 State MI shot lights out for the Mustangs in their matchup with crosstown rival Bloomfield Hills. She started off the game making a corner 3, deep 2, and wing 3. By the end of the game, Molly made 6 three pointers and finished with 22 points. Her clutch shooting put Marian on track for the victory and opened up the inside.
Highlights
2024 PG Samone Andrews Samone Andrews 5’8″ | PG Macomb Dakota | 2024 State MI put on a show for Dakota in game versus Regina. She utilized inside out, pushout dribbles, and combo moves to create space for assists and score from all three levels. Samone hit 3 pointers off the catch and off the dribble; she also converted finishes strong around the rim. Samone will be an outstanding prospect to watch for an explosive offensive and defensive team at Macomb Dakota.
2024 PF Tambre Williams Tambre Williams PF Macomb Dakota | 2024 State MI from Macomb Dakota was one of my favorite prospects to watch at the Compound today. She has the length, athleticism, and quickness few post players have. Tambre blocked shots on the ball and in help, she controls the boards, and has a relentless pursuit of the ball. She faces up and explodes to the rim for layups using both hands. Tambre gives her team an advantage in transition using her long strides and blazing speed. Tambre will be an exciting post prospect to watch during the winter season for Dakota.
Samantha Thomas
Samantha Thomas
2026 PG Samantha Thomas is going to be a valuable asset in Regina’s upcoming season as they try to climb the Catholic league under new head coach Joe Charrette. The outcome did not go great today, but Thomas flashed the skills you want to see from your point guard. She utilized a spin dribble, attack and stutter, and hesitation to create space to find teammates. Thomas was able to win one on one battles under pressure and penetrated the middle multiple times, converting floaters in traffic. She deflected passes on defense and continued to compete despite the game being out of reach. Thomas is a prospect I will look forward to seeing again in the future.
Cece Arico
Cece Arico
2027 SG Cece Arico is incredible to watch. She does everything for Country Day: right hand transition layup, transition assist, and relentless offensive rebounding. A couple of my favorite plays: jumping out of her shoes, doing a full 180 in the air to make a put back shot after an offensive rebound and chasing down a loose ball going out of bounds. Cece will be a BCAM’s Best candidate as a freshman for Detroit Country Day.
2025 CG Tyra Wright would not miss in the first half of her matchup with Marian for Utica Ford. She made 5 of 7 three point attempts from beyond the arc. With her length, quickness, and accuracy shooting it’s going to be a daunting task keeping her contained. Tyra has the shiftiness and control to create space and let it fly or put her foot down and drive to the rim. Utica Ford will greatly benefit from having Tyra leading their guards this winter.
