The Super Essex Conference was one that had eight 20+ win teams contained within it last season, plus a number of 15+ win teams as well. A balanced conference with top-end talent, the SEC will be stocked full of players this season, so let’s go over some players to watch upcoming.
Morgan Marshall Morgan Marshall PG University | 2024 State NJ – University (2024)
Marshall is going to make one hell of a 1-2 punch with Paradise Fisher Paradise Fisher 5'6" | PG University | 2025 State NJ for the second-straight season after leading University in scoring as a junior. She returns to the lineup, a 15-point scoring talent with around four rebounds, assists and steals per game last season, but where she wasn’t utilized much was beyond the arc. Nearly four threes a game is lost this season for the Phoenix, so don’t be surprised if she’s asked to shoot more from the perimeter.
Camile Wiley – Montclair Immaculate (2025)
Montclair Immaculate lost a lot of production coming into this season, meaning returning players will need to step up into bigger roles. Enter Wiley, a fringe starter as a sophomore who played quite a bit. Her minutes went up and so did her production, scoring around five points a game with 2.1 RPG and 2.5 APG in 26 games played. Her passing and defense will be crucial this season, and a starting spot is calling her name.
Anaya Karriem – West Orange (2025)
West Orange will have no issues when it comes to scoring this season, but on the other side of the ball, Karriem is the player to watch for the Mountaineers. The featured forward last season, she came out of nowhere, averaging 8.8 rebounds a game and more than two blocks a game as a sophomore. She led the team in both stats, and her command of the boards and the paint will be that much more crucial this season.
Téa Fiore – Caldwell (2026)
Fiore finds herself in an interesting spot with Caldwell going into her sophomore year. The departure of senior Lauren Sanderson in the spring left a massive hole in three-point production. Kayla Ishigami Kayla Ishigami PG Caldwell | 2024 NJ will undoubtedly help to replenish that, but Fiore will be asked to shoot much more from three. The 5-5 guard hit seven last season, scoring the majority of her points inside the arc, so we’ll see if and how that transition happens.
Talia Baptiste Talia Baptiste 5'7" | CG Columbia | 2024 State NJ – Columbia (2024)
Baptiste just decided her college plans, committing to Fairleigh Dickinson for basketball, easing the stress of her senior year on the basketball court. She’ll be much more loose, which will only help her play better, and if last season was any indication of this season, we’re in for a big one. Baptiste was a roughly 15-point scorer with 4+ rebounds and 3.5+ assists and steals a game as a junior, and she’s ready to set career-highs across the board this season.
Maddie Natale Maddie Natale 5'3" | PG Mount St. Dominic | 2025 State NJ – Mount St. Dominic (2025)
The multi-sport athlete life has been nothing but beneficial for the junior, coming off her best season on the court for MSD. There aren’t crazy-high expectations for the Lions this season, but having a consistent scorer in Natale who averaged eight points a game as a sophomore, including 9.6 points a game over her final 14 games of the season, is going to be crucial. She can shoot, she can drive, she can pull-up for a quick jumper, she’s an underrated talent who has a promising season in store.
