Hoop Group Summer Championships – 2028 Standouts

In the last live event of their season, these 2028 players head towards their senior season on a high note with notable performances in Spooky Nook PA.    Molly showed a solid lefty shooting stroke for the [program_tooltip program_id='714940' first='Lady' last='Runnin Rebels'] in a win over [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers']. She ran to the corner in transition and knocked it down. She wants the ball at the arc. Molly plays with continuous energy and was always shot ready with her hands out at the arc. When the closeouts came fast, she was willing to make the extra pass. She sprinted out in transition and got to two feet when contested in the paint.     Jacqueline brought it at both ends for NY Grit in a 2 point win over Lone Wolf Athletics. She was strong on her dribble drive attacking the rim with regularity. She finished through contact with consistency. Defensively, she did an outstanding job defending the wing. She was helping in the gaps and still able to recover and get deflections on back door cuts. Jacqueline also worked hard to clean the defensive glass.     Amelia is a combo guard with good strength and quickness. She was shifty with the ball and displayed the ability to get to the rim when she got defenders off balance. She was patient with the ball and did a good job feeding the post. When she did make a post entry, she cut hard off of it looking for a pass back and easy layup.     Stefania was smooth driving to the rim with runners in the lane for [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers'] against [program_tooltip program_id='714940' first='Lady' last='Runnin Rebels']. She displayed good footwork in the post with an up an under finish and also stepped out and showed a confident stroke from beyond the arc.     Tessa showed some impressive driving abilities for Connecticut Elite against Boston Showstoppers. She displayed great footwork on a step through and lefty finish and then again with a fantastic spin move that culminated with a right handed finish inside. On the defensive end, she attacked the glass and was not afraid to initiate the break.     Hailey was an absolute physical presence in the post ffor CT Starters against LI Renegades. She showed good hands whether it was on the glass or taking in post entry passes. She was able to use her height and strength to create space and finish over defenders on the block.     Reece played with good patience for Team Swish in a win over Springfield Ballers. She never let the defense speed her up. She displayed good footwork with the ball when she got inside on offense. She guarded hard on the defensive end and continually held her box outs until she or a teammate gained possession.     Jesse displayed great guard skills for Team Swish in a win over Springfield Ballers. She was a confident ball handler against pressure defense and still easily got her team into their offense. She was always shot ready on the catch and able to shoot before the close out came. When playing with a lead late in the game, she went to the ball and wanted it in her hands at crunch time.     Gia made an impact on both ends for [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers'] in a 1-point win over Penn Fever. She displayed confidence shooting the ball from mid-range and deep and worked to get to spots where she could catch and shoot. Defensively, she did a great job being physical on the perimeter without fouling. She got deflections and was willing to get on the floor for loose balls.     Lyric is a quick guard with a strong handle. Her size is rarely an issue on dribble drive because she easily gets in the paint and then gets to two feet and explodes to the rim or makes good decisions to dish it. With NY Grit she showed a nice stroke on the corner 3 against D4S and also created good separation on her mid-range step back. She also read the defense and made good decisions with the ball in transition. Defensively, her quickness allows her to stay in front of the ball and she did a good job digging on the post and getting deflections. Lyric plays with an edge and, when she controls it, she's a difference maker.     Madysen is an attacking guard for Connecticut Elite. Against Boston Showstoppers, she displayed strong downhill driving skills. She initiated and welcomed contatct on her way to the rim and showed no difficulties finishing through the contact.     This lefty uses her exceptional length to her advantage. With the ball on the block she displayed good footwork and patience for [program_tooltip program_id='714940' first='Lady' last='Runnin Rebels'] against [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers']. She keeps it high and scores over the defense. She also did a great job rim running in transition. Defensively, she contests shots around the rim and rebounds very well.     Penny is a physical guard for the [program_tooltip program_id='714940' first='Lady' last='Runnin Rebels']. Against [program_tooltip program_id='774068' first='NJ' last='Panthers'], she muscled her way into the paint and made great decisions. She did a great job drawing the extra defender and dropping dimes to cutting teammates for layups. She pushed tempo in transition and passed ahead hitting several open shooters for corner 3s. Penny was aggressive defending on the ball and getting inside to help her team's rebounding.
