With so many great teams and players, it’s simply impossible to include all of them in just one article, so expect plenty more of these in the coming days and weeks.
Riley O’Sullivan Riley O’Sullivan 6'2" | PF Glen Ridge | 2025 State NJ – Glen Ridge (2025)
O’Sullivan’s season wasn’t too bad for her sophomore year, her first year as a starter and one where she got significantly more playing time. With that came a double-double average along with more than two assists and steals a game, and over a block a game. Really impressive stuff from the junior, who factors in nicely on a roster that is young and returning all of its impact players this season.
Emma Woros – Millburn (2025)
More of an underrated pick here, Woros has hit our radar following a season where three of Millburn’s top impact players were seniors. Those three are now gone, meaning more players will be needed to step up in their place. Woros is the perfect player to do just that and she did quite a lot in a hybrid bench/starter role as a sophomore. A starting spot is all but guaranteed for her this season, which means plenty more production.
Cali Giacomazza – Verona (2025)
Verona was a team last season that relied heavily upon its senior class, but those seniors are no longer, all graduating in the spring. It’s incredibly difficult for senior-heavy teams to rebuild, but a player like Giacomazza is someone who will make that process easier. She’s the leading returning scorer and three-point shooter, averaging 6.5 points a game as a sophomore, but what she brings to the table is rapid growth and maturity as a player, something unmatched on the court.
Niaja Troutman Niaja Troutman PG Montclair Immaculate | 2026 NJ – Newark East Side (2025)
Troutman had a really impressive freshman season for Newark East Side, someone who was a relative unknown to most of the state, but she made her presence felt almost immediately. Averaging 9.5 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 2.3 APG in 18 games, Troutman is ready to make a bigger impact on a team that could be a dark horse playoff contender come February and March.
Jordan Owens Jordan Owens 5'7" | SF Payne Tech | 2025 State NJ – Payne Tech (2025)
Kayla Butler Kayla Butler 5'7" | SF Payne Tech | 2025 State NJ has a fantastic backcourt teammates in Jordan Owens Jordan Owens 5'7" | SF Payne Tech | 2025 State NJ to play with as both enter their junior season. Butler is more of the pure scorer, but Owens is the sharp-shooter that the Lions need to get back on a winning track this season. In 22 games, she hit 32 threes, averaging 9.7 points per game, and she fits the three and D archetype to a T. A really impressive defender and a great offensive player, Owens has a breakout year awaiting her as a junior.
Salange Bell Salange Bell SF Montclair Kimberely | 2024 State NJ – Montclair Kimberley (2024)
Monica Labib was MKA’s top perimeter shooter last season, closing in on two made threes a game for the Cougars, but the senior graduated in the spring. Someone will need to step up in her place, and Bell is the next logical player to do so, hitting just over a three a game as a junior while averaging 10.7 PPG, 4.6 RPG and 2.1 SPG in 18 games played. Bell has shown plenty of potential from three, and this year is the opportunity for her to show out.
