It was a great day of basketball at Spain Park, talent from all over the state squaring off in front of multiple scouts. Here’s a short list of players that improved their stock on Saturday.
Samarian Franklin Samarian Franklin 5’5″ | PG Wenonah | 2025 State AL entered Saturday’s camp as one of the most highly touted prospects on our list and her performance lived up to the hype. Franklin was on fire from three all afternoon and found one open look after another, so active without the ball in her hands. Defensively, Franklin was relentless in forcing traps and pressuring ball-handlers. Her instincts shined, numerous steals as a result of her anticipation. After watching Franklin on Saturday, it’s clear why she’s slotted at #6 in the state rankings.
Emily Mouser
Emily Mouser
Emily Mouser stole the show on Saturday and probably raised her stock more than anyone in attendance. Mouser was flying around from the first tip, chasing rebounds and providing defensive pressure. While she’s great on the offensive end too, Mouser could be a defensive asset on any team because of her help principles and communication skills. She also shoots the three at a high level and knocked down a number of tough jumpers. Based on Mouser’s performance this weekend, I feel comfortable calling her a top 25 player in the state.
By the end of the afternoon, it was quote clear to the scouts in attendance that Ella Wheeler Ella Wheeler 5’9″ | PG Sulligent | 2027 AL was one of the more skilled players in the gym. Wheeler was deadly in catch and shoot scenarios, almost always in the right place at the right time. At this point in her career, Wheeler is probably best as a 2-guard but she showed the ability to handle the ball comfortably as the one and can help alleviate pressure from her point guard when she needs to. Keep an eye out for Wheeler as she could likely make an appearance in the next rankings update.
Highlights
There were few players in the gym with the long term intrigue that Khloe Ford Khloe Ford 6’4″ | C Hoover | 2026 AL provides. A 6’4 sophomore, Ford is a true post player that can dominate the paint, even against older competition. Ford was constantly working to make herself available on the block and she showed off some soft touch from 10-15 feet. When defenses began to double down on her, Ford exhibited some impressive vision out of the post and consistently found open shooters. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ford began garnering college attention sooner than later.
Ryan Bardenwerper Ryan Bardenwerper 6’0″ | SG Northridge | 2026 AL simply could not miss on Saturday. Whether in the corner or the wing, Bardenwerper provided a deadly spot-up option all afternoon. At 6’0, she has intriguing size and really plays the stretch forward role well because of her ability to knock down open shots or use her height advantage to score off the drive. Bardenwarper has great size, a lethal three-point shot, and still years to develop. She’ll definitely be one to watch in Alabama’s 2026 class.
