Serenity Rutledge
Serenity Rutledge
In a camp full of juniors and seniors, Serenity Rutledge blended right in and actually emerged as one of the more physical guards at the camp. Rutledge was aggressive all afternoon, pressuring ball-handlers and forcing turnovers. She had a number of strong finishes at the rim and really embraces contact well. As Rutledge develops, she’ll need to become more of a leader and floor general but her tenacity provides an instant impact wherever she goes.
Kaylee Fenderson Kaylee Fenderson 5’5″ Thompson | 2027 AL enters her freshman year as one of the better known ’27s in Alabama and she certainly strengthened her case with a solid performance on Saturday. Fenderson’s skillset and IQ both surpass most her age. She was very effective working out of the pick and roll and when defenses sat back, Fenderson made them pay with the three-ball. After Saturday’s showing, Fenderson remains one of the hottest freshman in Alabama.
KeLeigh Mullins rose her stock with a great performance on Saturday and found numerous ways to impact the game. She’s still early in her career but the skillset is well-rounded with room still to grow. On multiple occasions, Mullens displayed the ability to break down defenders with her handle and knock down shots off the dribble. She proved capable of scoring at multiple levels and will only become more lethal as she continues growing and adding muscle.
Lauryn Holley Lauryn Holley 5’6″ Hewitt Trussville | 2027 AL shined in her role on Saturday, playing unselfish basketball and making the most of her scoring opportunities. Holley exhibited some impressive poise for a freshman and at times, it seemed like the game was moving in slow motion for her. Around the paint, Holley made nearly all of her floaters and showed some soft touch. Be on the lookout for Holley as she enters her freshman year at Hewitt Trussville.
Anne Rylea Thurman
Anne Rylea Thurman
Despite being one of youngest players at Saturday’s event, Anne Rylea Thurman was beaming with confidence from the first tip. She wasn’t overly aggressive or ball dominant but you can see the swagger in the way she pulls the three with no hesitation. Thurman was as deadly of a spot-up option as we saw on Saturday and buried a number of three-pointers. She’s got deep range too, able to setup several feet behind the three-point line and still knock down shots. She certainly made the most of her trip over from Mississippi.
