Continue ReadingPrep Girls Hoops has officially updated its 2026 Class rankings and there was just enough movement with some of the top prospects to give the top five a fresh, new look. Ranking players is never an easy task, with a lot of hard work going into what we feel is a precisely accurate list. These five prospects are the cream of the crop when it comes to this stellar Sophomore Class. This is our first update to the debut rankings that went live in June, just as AAU was heating up! Over the summer, these ladies have put in countless hours of work behind the scenes and have sharpened their skills, putting their talents on full display on a national level. For many of these recruits, stocks have soared as has their ranking, as they head into Year 2 of high school hoops next month!
1. GiGi Battle GiGi Battle 6'0" | CG Rutgers Prep | 2026 State NJ | 5’10” CG | Rutgers Prep
Previous Rank: #1 | New Rank: #1
GiGi was arguably the biggest stock riser of the summer in New Jersey’s Class of 2026. She blazed the grassroots trail with Exodus NYC 16U EYBL and racked up numerous P5 offers in the process. Maryland, Arkansas, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Miami, Rutgers and Villanova and Wisconsin are just some of the programs who showed interested in the do-it-all superstar over the past five months. Her undeniable skills earned her an invite to the USA U16 National Team Trials at Colorado Springs in May as one of only fifty-five young women (and the only one from New Jersey) invited to participate. At Rutgers Prep this season, GiGi has a chance to cross career marks of 600 points, 400 rebounds and 100 steals before her sophomore campaign comes to a close in March.
2. Addy Platt Addy Platt 5'11" | SG Pope John | 2026 State NJ | 5’11” SG | Pope John
Previous Rank: #2 | New Rank: #2
Addy was rocking and rolling all summer long with United NJ! Her length and versatility proved far too much for opponents to handle. Add in uptempo play, phenomenal rebounding and three level scoring and you have a true superstar in the making! She had coaches flocking to the sidelines to watch her in action, earning an offer from Marist (among many) along the way. At the staggering rate she stuffed the stat sheet last season, she has a chance to eclipse 800 points, 600 rebounds, 200 assists, 200 blocks and 200 steals before Year 2 is all said and done!
3. Madison Kocis Madison Kocis 5'11" | PG St. John Vianney | 2026 State NJ | 5’10” PG | St. John Vianney
Previous Rank: #3 | New Rank: #3
Madison’s summer on the EYBL circuit with Philly Rise 15U was surely one to remember. She drained shots and lived up to her “sharpshooter” label on her way to helping Rise claim championships in Chicago & Orlando. She finished the season ranked as one of the most efficient offensive players in Nike EYBL 15U at 11.3 ppg (minimum 12 pos/g). She stood out at John Lucas Top 160 with lights-out shooting and shifty moves getting to the rim. This season with the Lancers, Madison has a chance to pass career milestones of 500 points, 100 assists and 100 steals and continue writing her legacy at Vianney.
4. Addison Nyemchek Addison Nyemchek 6'1" | CG Red Bank Catholic | 2026 State NJ | 5’11” CG | Red Bank Catholic
Previous Rank: #5 | New Rank: #4
Watching Addy play this summer, I felt like I was witnessing the birth of a superstar! As if her freshman season wasn’t remarkable enough (242 points & 128 rebounds), she took things to the next level on the AAU circuit and dazzled crowds all summer long. She is a certified PROBLEM with the ball in her hands and has mastered the mid-range shot. Her phenomenal summer with the Shoreshots culminated with an HGSL Championship in Atlantic City, where she went on to be named 15U Season MVP! Next summer she will join forces with national juggernaut Philly Rise on the Nike circuit and take the country by storm. With the Caseys of Red Bank Catholic this season, she has a chance to eclipse 500 points, 300 rebounds, 100 assists and 100 steals before it’s all said and done!
5. Jada Lynch Jada Lynch 5'11" | SG St. Rose | 2026 State NJ | 5’11” SG | St. Rose
Previous Rank: #6 | New Rank: #5
Jada was booked and busy this spring and summer, competing with Philly Rise 16U EYBL (April/May) and representing Belgium at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship in Turkey this past August. This, of course, was after she led St. Rose to a South Jersey, Non-Public B semifinal appearance and then went on to participate in “minicamp” at the Final Four in Dallas (1 of only 33 invitees). She truly put the world on notice in Izmir, Turkey, where she finished 10th in scoring, 18th in rebounding, and T-8th in assists against elite players from France, Croatia, Spain, Serbia and Italy, just to name a few. She ended the tournament averaging 14.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3.4 apg and an efficiency rating of 11.3 (7 games played). Now in her second season with the Purple Roses, Jada has a chance to reach career milestones of 700 points, 300 rebounds, 100 assists and 100 steals and continue her dominance as one of the state’s best guards.
