Continue ReadingThe North Georgia-commit is one of the state’s most decorated players, a state champion and multi-time All-State selection. Jones’ growth and knack for performing on the biggest stage will have her go down as likely the best player in school history. Her three-point shooting is outstanding and her ability to get to the basket and finish with either hand is college-ready. Averie averaged 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals while hitting 74 threes at a 37% clip as a junior.
Western Carolina nabbed the four-year starter this offseason. Hood averaged 17.3 points, 3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.5 steals while nailing 82 threes (36.9%). Lucy’s transformation from a pass-first guard that sometimes shied away from shooting to an aggressive offense hunter has helped her reach her full potential.
Emory and UPike have offered Dakota Phillips. The powerful do-everything guard plays with strength and balance. She stops and pops from the mid-range and has the steadiness to finish through contact at the rim. Expect D-II, D-III and NAIA schools to continue to pursue her.
Mount St. Mary’s and Nicholls State have both offered the dynamic downhill point guard. Ruff has good speed and a great accelerated burst to the basket once she gets her shoulders past her initial defender. Madison has proven to be an aggressive on-ball defender over the course of her career. Ruff averaged 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.6 steals per game as a junior.

One of Georgia’s top scorers, Shy Foster erupted as a junior and parlayed her play onto college radars after dumping in 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 5.4 steals while connecting on 47 threes at an efficient rate. Foster is an explosive athlete that plays off two feet and scores through contact with ease. LaGrange offered her in July. Consider Shy as one of Georgia’s bigger sleepers with serious upside.
The two-time Region Player of the Year is a frontrunner to add a third trophy to her case. Davis is a 20-point per game scorer with deep three-point range and major moxie. Davis plays with a chip on her shoulder and out-toughs nearly every opposition. While she is known for her scoring, Davis is also a deft passer, especially with her touch-pass lob entries to the post. Courtney committed to Young Harris in the fall.
A move from Schley County to Sumter County will help with Jesstynie’s visibility during the high school – not like she needs it though. Georgia Southwestern, Georgia Southern, Nicholls State, Longwood and Columbus State have all already offered the South Georgia gem. Scott, a two-time All-State selection, averaged 21.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.7 steals her sophomore season.

Undersized point guard Jatiana Chambers makes up for her lack of height with her strength and dazzling court vision. Her floor presence cuts up defenses, delivering on the money lead passes in transition and her knowledge of how to find crevices in the halfcourt and fit in assists to open teammates energizes Dougherty. Chambers averaged 14.2 points, 4 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.8 steals last season.
