In my mind, these young ladies are capable of contributing to the ball club in many ways. Not just by doing the normal things that show up in the box scores, but also the little things that might go unnoticed. It might be an extra effort play, a perfect pick, a timely back cut, reading a play to shoot a gap that leads to a turnover, something that changes the momentum and really puts their ball club on top.
You all know what I’m talking about. These girls are solid players who can get hot at any given moment. They may not be the “star” attraction for their club, but they can and will do something throughout the course of the game that makes you feel pretty impressionable about them.
Take a look at some “hidden gems” that are throughout the ‘25 class.
Tamiah Tanner Tamiah Tanner 5'8" | SF Cleveland | 2025 State TN (5’9/F/Cleveland)– World of talent and athletic as all get out, when it’s time to play, this kid brings it. She can unleash deep balls from the 3, or take it downhill and finish at the rim. When she’s on, she’s on, getting buckets by the bunches. Will contribute on the defensive end as well as on the boards. Once it clicks for this kid, look out Cleveland opponents.
Julia Speedy Julia Speedy 5'6" | SG CPA | 2025 State TN (5’6/G/CPA)– Sharpshooter who has scoring the ball in her DNA. It’s a family thing and her being at CPA is an asset. Solid fundamental player who just plays the game with a passion. Does all the little things right. Passing, running lanes, defending, she’s like a walking textbook of fundamentals. The kid is hungry and she is always out to do what is best for her team. Solid prospect who is going to blossom into a very important part of the Lady Lions success.
Kaydence Wisniewski Kaydence Wisniewski 5'9" | SG Oakland | 2025 State TN (5’10/G/ Oakland)– Put a cherry on top of it, this girl is growing by the day. Gym rat who loves hard work and it shows in her play. Classic story of an overlooked kid, who has worked her tail off to get better. Has a beautiful lefty release that she will unleash from the arc. Nice first step, she will blow by a defender and get to the rim. Solid defender, contributes on the boards. Great kid who is going to continue to grow.
Sophie McInturff Sophie McInturff 5'7" | PG Webb-Bell Buckle | 2025 State TN (5’7/PG/ Webb- Bell Buckle)- Solid guard who can hoop. Floor general who can control the game in so many ways. Her talent has been overshadowed playing with loads of talent. However, this girl is ready to claim her own stock and show the state what she is made of. Nice handler who can get paint touches with ease. Left along on the arc, she will spray from afar. Makes timely passes to teammates, hustles on D. Solid kid who continues to get better every time she hits the floor.
Abbilyn Teter Abbilyn Teter 5'9" | SG Cannon Co. | 2025 State TN (5’8/G/ Cannon Co.)– Lanky guard who just competes her tail off. Both ends of the floor, she is going to give it all she has plus some. Abby is a shooter who can pull up from the mid-range or spot up from deep. She won’t hesitate to get into the paint either, challenging girls along the way. She will work on defense, and do the little things to help her club to victory. Great prospect whose confidence is shooting through the roof. Solid kid who finds a way to affect the game.
Bethany Jackson Bethany Jackson 5'7" | SG Central Magnet | 2025 State TN (5’7/G/ Central Magnet)– From role player to big contributor, this girl is always doing something to change the momentum of the game. She just hustles and is always in the right spot at the right time. She doesn’t score in bunches, but when she is on, she’s on. Double digit scoring here, add 4-5 rebounds, 2-3 steals, a stat line like this is what you get from her on a nightly basis. Solid player who plays her part and then some.
