Kara Santos, Mansfield, Class Senior, Position F, HT 5’11
Kara will be one of the better post players in the league this season. Last season she averaged 11 points, and 8 rebounds per game. Kara is a strong built, and does a good job fighting for positioning down low. She is always very aggressive on the rebounds. Last season Kara showed more flashes of her abilities to score in multiple ways on offense. I saw more of her taking the ball off the dribble. She is also a good passer from the post, and does not force shots up. This season I think Kara’s game will impact both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, with some new added facets to her game as well.
Cali Melo, Taunton, Class Senior, Position PG, HT 5’6
Cali had a strong season for Taunton last year, and she showed really good leadership on and off the court. Last season she averaged 11 points, 6 assists and three steals per game. Her impact will be felt this season on both sides of the floor. She is a Point Guard, who you can trust running the offense for your team. Last year Cali had a strong second half of the season. She was looking to score more, and was more aggressive and confident. Cali plays with a very high motor, and is always one of the hardest workers on the floor. She is good on defense in Taunton’s full court press. She will be asked to do even more in her senior season, and I think she is up for the task.
Chloe Fales, Franklin, HT 5’6, Position G, Class Junior
Chloe was a stock riser last season, and stepped into a big role. She averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. A lot of her impact didn’t show up in the stat sheet, as she had a bunch of key stops on defense. She is a good shooter from the outside, and last year had a number of games with multiple three pointers. She also rebounds the ball well for a Guard. Chloe does what ever the team needs her to do. Franklin will be looking to make it 6 league titles in a row this season.
Sam Faria, North Attleboro, Class Junior, Position SG,
Sam had a breakout Sophomore year. Sam will be the sharp shooter for North Attleboro this season. Last year she had her season high 5 three pointers made in a game. Sam has a quick shot release, and moves well without the ball. In her Sophomore season she look more confident in the system. If North Attleboro makes the tournament, Sam will be a key piece.
Kailey Sullivan, Foxboro, Position CG, HT 5’8, Class Junior
Sullivan was a big part of Foxboro’s State Championship last year. She is one of the top shooters in the league, and in the MIAA. She will be a scoring threat every game this season. Sullivan had one game last season where she made 11 three pointers. She led the team last year in scoring, with 18 points per game. She had 76 three pointers during the year, and was also very efficient at the free throw line. Sullivan is effective playing the Point Guard or the Shooting Guard. Sullivan will be a player every team in the Hockomock must closeout on.
