MWC Lady Cat Invitational Upperclassmen Standouts

In this article, I have several 2024’s and 2025 that stood out at the MWC Lady Cat Invitational. Keep reading to get a short evaluation on their performances.

Olivia Dean | Guard | Nashville | 2024

Olivia possesses the skill to connect on perimeter jumpers. Her shooting proficiency forces the defense to close out aggressively when she has the ball, creating openings for her to exploit gaps and make plays off the dribble. Olivia can finish herself or deliver on-target passes to her teammates.

Jessie Lyle | Guard | Nashville | 2025

Jessie demonstrates versatility with a well-rounded game, showcasing proficiency in shooting and driving to the rim. Capable of playing either guard position, Jessie can run the team effectively or slide over to the wing position and be an offensive threat with her shooting and scoring ability.

Caroline Dean | Guard | Nashville | 2025

A tenacious guard who consistently gives 100% effort on both ends of the court. Proficient in sinking jumpers and driving to the basket, Caroline is going to do whatever it takes to put her team in a position to win.

Brooklyn Braughton | Guard | Lake Hamilton | 2024

Brooklyn contributes across the board from the guard position, excelling in the finer details and taking pleasure in facilitating her teammates’ involvement. Even though she was unselfish, Brooklyn did possess the ability to score the ball when needed.

Naomi Sharpley Naomi Sharpley 5'6" | PG Parkview | 2025 State AR | Guard | Parkview | 2025

Naomi thrives on defending the entire length of the court. Enjoys applying intense pressure on the opposing ball handler, consistently keeping opponents on their heels with a relentless attacking mindset. Plays hard and will compete until the final buzzer. Showed she could make the three and get to the rim.

Delaney Roller Delaney Roller 5'9" | SF Har-Ber | 2024 State AR | Guard | Springdale Har-Ber | 2024

One of the top players in the state, Delaney is an exceptional shooter with the skill to drive off the catch. Her shooting capabilities force the defense to extend, providing her with opportunities to penetrate the rim against aggressive closeouts. She also demonstrated the ability to knock down the mid-range jumper off the 1 or 2 dribble pull-up.

Lexy Heston | Wing | Vilonia | 2024

Frequently underestimated as a valuable asset to her team. She excels in aspects that may not always be reflected on the stat sheet, yet her impactful contributions are unmistakable. Lexy will give her team the energy and effort needed, she can score when the opportunity is there, and she plays with a high IQ.

Amyia Taylor | Forward | Conway | 2024

A senior player aiming to leave her mark as a valuable team member. She did a really good job of putting herself in a position to score when a teammate penetrated. She often scored in traffic and held her own on defense. A dedicated and selfless team player, she is willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to her team’s success.

Alexis Cox Alexis Cox 5'8" | SF Conway | 2025 State AR | Wing | Conway | 2025

Alexis is one of Conway’s most well-rounded athletes and is among the top players in Arkansas. As she transitions back to basketball mode after a lengthy volleyball season, Conway is poised to become an even more formidable force. Her versatility to defend multiple positions, play on the wing, or the high post allows Conway to move her around to find favorable matchups.

Alivia Cox | Wing | Conway | 2025

An energetic wing performer who made crucial three-pointers throughout the competition. Her aggressive defensive play and tenacity will greatly benefit the Conway team moving forward. She provided solid minutes off the bench that greatly benefited to her teams success.
