SubscribeWe are so excited to start covering girls basketball in Utah and here are a few games that will get things started in Week 0. We will also be keeping an eye on the Herriman vs. Skyline game.
Lehi @ Mountain Ridge (November 16th)
Great 6A battle and my guess is that we will have some new players come out and impress in this one on both teams. Lehi will be lead by Sammie Love Sammie Love 5'7" | CG Lehi | 2024 State UT a player that knows how to put the ball in the basket.
Mountain Ridge has a young team as they are loaded with Class of 2026 players so look for them to have players come out of nowhere.
Green Canyon @ Alta (November 17th)
Really like this matchup as you have two teams that can make a nice run this year. Alt ahas some players that could be difference makers like
Alia Baldassano

UT
a young Class of 2026 player that has improved her scoring and she does not have to sit outside and jack three’s, she finds other ways to score. Sofia Davenport should be much improved this season, especially if she can continue to shoot well from deep.
Green Canyon Should get excellent play from Jannalynn Blotter a player that can do a little bit of everything. Marissa Best Marissa Best 5'10" | SF Green Canyon | 2024 State UT should be able to lead this team in scoring as shhe has the strength and skills as a Forward to do damage. With alta not having a player that could match her she could have a big time game. Could be a close game though.
Northridge @ Brighton (November 17th)
Brighton might be one of the best young teams in the state as they are just loaded with talent that has next level potential.

is an absolute bucket. She knows how to get to the rim and her shooting out beyond the arc is sharp.
Charlotte O’Neal

is a hidden gem for sure as she has size, strength and skills. Look for her to elevate her game this season and you should see her numbers go up.

is another player that can bring it for sure as she has three-level scoring ability too.
Northridge will have their hands full as they have been hovering around 10 wins in the last 3-4 years but they will rely heavily on Kaylee Hees a player that can score the ball and she is an outside threat too. Karlee Mayfield is another player in the Class of 2025 that could have an impactful game and season. This game could be a good one as two teams in 5A that could improve this season.
