Emily Urban Emily Urban 5'5" | CG Kimberly | 2026 State WI
One of the most intriguing aspects of FVA basketball heading into the season was who the Papermakers would look to in the high-profile games in conference play. I’m unsure how much thought I put into Urban being a kid who’d score 16 and grab five rebounds against a talented Hortonville team on the road. However, Kimberly is dangerous because of the versatility of all their kids. For instance, nobody would prepare their guards to defend guard-to-guard pick and pops, but of all people, 5-4 Emily Urban Emily Urban 5'5" | CG Kimberly | 2026 State WI and 5-3 Bentley Drout Bentley Drout 5'4" | PG Kimberly | 2025 State WI played in P&R offense that led to an Urban three. The way they play is fun to watch because of what kids like Emily Urban Emily Urban 5'5" | CG Kimberly | 2026 State WI are allowed to do.
Kelly Boinksi
I first saw Boinski the year before she got to high school, and right away, I could tell she could shoot the ball at a high level, but that’s what her team needed on the offensive end of the floor. Now, as a sophomore, Boinski’s game has developed nicely into a productive wing role for Catholic Memorial as they enter the holidays undefeated, with some prominent games coming up in the new year. She’s comfortable attacking the rim and draws contact to get to the free-throw line. What she does has become part of the Crusader’s identity.
Maass isn’t your typical four or five prospect. Yes, she’s as physical as any post player you’ll find, but she runs the floor better than most players I’ve seen. Part of that is playing with Playmakers/Thrive over the summer. That group is guard-heavy and flies up and down the floor. At Appleton North, it’s not uncommon to see Maass as a part of a two-on-one break with a guard finishing at the rim. That’s not even mentioning that she’s one of the three strongest post-kids in the FVA, in my eyes.
Kylie Pieper Kylie Pieper 5'7" | CG Pewaukee | 2026 State WI
I’d never seen Pieper take games by the scruff of the neck until Pewaukee’s game against Homestead this season, where she scored around 17 second-half points and secured the win for the Pirates. Whether I watched her with Wisconsin Lakers or Pewaukee, Pieper’s always been with by power-five talent and slotted into a lower usage role. However, watching her make shot after shot against the Highlanders gave me insight into her that I hadn’t had. There is a player in there who’s more than a gritty defensive kid who does all the dirty work for some of the elite kids around her, which I loved about her, but knowing there’s real offensive punch in her game takes her to another level in my eyes.
