In the article below, I am going to highlight a handful of players out of the 2027 Class, that have been recently added to our PGH system. Each player is someone to know moving forward, as they are seeing/will see some of the varsity floor during their Freshman season.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
To start off our list of new additions to this 2027 Class, we have a player that with the right focus and dedication, could become someone productive over the next few years at the high school level and maybe even past that. The player that I am referring to is Braylee Vasa Braylee Vasa 5’11” | SF Norris | 2027 NE . Vasa has a special ability to shoot the ball, while possessing some height for her age. She stands around 5’10 and demonstrates on a consistent basis that she can really score the basketball because of her balanced base and coordinated movements. Defensively, she holds her own and does the little things correctly, usually leading to a lot of tips and deflections throughout a contest. Which ultimately leads to turnovers and buckets in transition for herself and her other teammates. It’s going to be fun watching Vasa’s game evolve over the next few years. She is already a productive player, that is only going to get better with more experience and as time goes on.
Highlights
I first had the chance to see Jada James Jada James 5’8″ | PG Duchesne Academy Of The Sacred Heart Omaha | 2027 NE at a PGH Top 250 Event earlier this Fall and what I saw was pretty solid. James is a guard that can handle the basketball but her best ability coming down the floor would be shooting it from deep. I would add that James does a little bit of everything for whatever team she is lacing up with but most importantly she displays a fundamental and balanced shooting stroke, whenever she catches it on the perimeter. If her defender over-plays, she can put it on the floor and drive by for an easier look for herself or an open teammate near the rim. All in all, from what I’ve seen so far at our event and what she has done on the varsity floor this high school season, James is a player that I will be keeping my eye on moving forward. She makes things happen and I am wondering how far she can take things on the hardwood before everything is said and done.

Haydin Jackson Haydin Jackson 5’8″ | SG Bennington | 2027 NE is another player that I had the chance of scouting at our PGH Top 250 Event this past Fall and she really impressed me. It wasn’t only that Jackson took care of her matchup and did it in a calm manner, but that she produced in so many facets of the game. If Jackson comes down the court and passes to a teammate right away, she does a good job of moving away from the ball and setting screens in attempts to open up the teammates around her. Something can be said for players who produce without the ball. Those players are the one’s that coaches love to coach, no matter the competition level. Jackson seems to still be getting her footing on the high school court but after she settles in, I’m expecting to see some important numbers in some meaningful games in her future. She has all the ability and intangibles, she just needs to take it one play at a time and help those around her as much as she can. If she does that, she is going to be happy with her individual outcome and her teams results at the end of this 2023-2024 season.
A player that I was not aware of before this 2027 Update is Tabi Forney Tabi Forney SG Havard | 2027 NE . Forney, after Week 1 of play, is a leader in several categories state-wide, as it pertains to the 2027 Class and their production at the varsity level. She is raking in rebounds on both sides of the floor at a high rate and because of that, she is also scoring the ball at a high rate underneath the basket. I’m going to have to dive into Forney’s film some more before I go into detail about her play-style but with the numbers she put up in Week 1, I’m sure I’ll be mentioning her name again in the future. Especially accounting for fact that she is only a Freshman this winter and she still has a lot of raw talent.
