If you are sensing a theme here, the Badgers are going to be really good again next year when they make the move up to Class A. The young classes are loaded with talent and Jackson is another, who was a sharp shooter on Tuesday. She knocked down 4-of-5 triples in the first half when the Badgers staked a 35-18 lead. Another great defender — it doesn’t appear optional for Bennington — Jackson is another player who can make a big mark on the defensive end. Has averages of 11.2 points and 2.4 steals per game and shoots 39% from beyond the arc.

Bennington is poised to make it back to the State Tournament this Winter. Last season Bennington made it to Lincoln and they return most of that roster once again. One of their more impactful players on offense is SG –

. Jackson can make some shots from deep. She seems to be more comfortable off the dribble but she isn’t afraid to catch and shoot either. It all depends on the situation. With Bennington there is a lot of in and out action. The feed the post and that post player hits the shooter for open looks. That’s been the winning recipe so far this Winter so I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.

as a shooter. Someone that wants to let it fly whenever she touches it from the outside within reason and when she is on, she is ON. She can go off in the blink of an eye. She is one of those that just needs to see one go in and then you could be in trouble for the rest of the game. As Jackson continues to grow with her game, consistency on offense will determine where she will be able to compete in college. She is soldi defensively so I’m not worried about that side of things. She just needs to lock in this Fall into making X amount of shots a day. If she does that, she might be a main reason whey Bennington high school makes it back to the State Tournament this upcoming Spring.

at the Nebraska State Tournament a few months ago, she was leaving her defenders on skates. Jackson just put together a successful weekend on the road with her Missouri Phenom – Nebraska program. She was one of her team’s leaders in PPG each contest while shooting the ball, she was making great effort plays defensively, and she was being a great teammate to those around her with her constant communication and guidance. Jackson is a headlining SG out of the 2027 Class in high school with how well she has shot the rock the past twelve months. If she continues to build on that and doesn’t settle for only jumpers offensively, she is going to continue to become better and better as a prospect.

had an impressive highlight at the State Tournament last week with her Bennington team. Jackson ended up dropping her defender off the dribble, hitting a nasty three pointer over that same player from the Wing position to end one of their quarters of play. Jackson has always been able to shoot it really well and she has always displayed that she has a deep bag when it comes to her handle. As she has gotten older, Jackson has learned that less is more. She is slowly becoming more twitchy and that’s making it more difficult for defenses to stay in front of her. There is still a long way to go but I like what Jackson does when she competes. We will see where she can take things from here.

“Jackson can catch on fire in a hurry offensively, while on defense she is someone that plays a physical game as a guard. Throughout the duration of a contest she has a three level scoring ability and she isn’t afraid to use it. Her biggest challenge moving into her Sophomore season at Bennington will be shot selection. With the roster they will have with their underclass group alone, they should be very well off as long as everyone makes sure that they are shooting not just good shots, but GREAT shots. If everyone does that, this group is going to be very hard to stop because of their impressive individual talent level, Jackson included.”

displays on the basketball court every time she laces up is something to note at this point. When I first had the chance to see Jackson, she demonstrated that she had a fundamental shooting stroke, a smart head on her shoulders, and a lot of patience to her game. Since then, she has seemingly gotten better in almost every aspect of the game. She has kept up with her consistent shooting ability, she is playing stifling defense, and she is someone that isn’t going to hurt her team in the long run by any means. As long as she stays lock in and in love with the game of basketball, she could be a solid producer at the collegiate level at the end of the day in the correct situation.

When I first had the chance to see Hayden Jackson last year. You could see that she could shoot the ball at a high rate and get hot in a hurry but the rest of her game was still coming along. I think that’s still the case, even though she is super solid all-around. Jackson may not be the tallest on the floor but she has quick feet and lengthy arms. If she takes the time to figure out what her opponent is trying to do offensively early on, she is very good at picking their pocket later or creating steals. This is one of those players that if she see’s a deep shot go in early, it could be a long day for an opponent. She understands balance, footwork, and the coordination it takes to mix with both of those things to be successful. I’m curious how this AAU season is going to go for her but in general, I’m sure she is going to make the most of her opportunities and make an impact with this group over time.

prior to her Freshman year at Bennington High School and you could tell that she was going to produce right away. Don’t get me wrong, Jackson has a lot of room to grow in this game but she displays a lot of positives already. For one, she stays calm and in control. Even if a team presses her or brings a double, she adapts. Second, she can knock down shots when the ball is rotated back to her. Third, off of the dribble, she is nice. She can score with a nice step up jumper or she can get all the way to the hoop for a finish. When you combined all of this, you see promise in someone that is really just starting their basketball journey. She may not be the best Freshman on her own team this season with how Skylar Johnson is playing but if she progresses at a steady rate over the next few seasons, you better watch out. She could be a killer.

is another player that I had the chance of scouting at our PGH Top 250 Event this past Fall and she really impressed me. It wasn’t only that Jackson took care of her matchup and did it in a calm manner, but that she produced in so many facets of the game. If Jackson comes down the court and passes to a teammate right away, she does a good job of moving away from the ball and setting screens in attempts to open up the teammates around her. Something can be said for players who produce without the ball. Those players are the one’s that coaches love to coach, no matter the competition level. Jackson seems to still be getting her footing on the high school court but after she settles in, I’m expecting to see some important numbers in some meaningful games in her future. She has all the ability and intangibles, she just needs to take it one play at a time and help those around her as much as she can. If she does that, she is going to be happy with her individual outcome and her teams results at the end of this 2023-2024 season.
