In what has proved to be a tough tournament for Morristown West, Mitchell really stood out as a potential player down the road for West. She’s long and athletic, and attacks the rim with really nice instincts. Has a chance to be very good!
Porter went off on Thursday morning vs West Greene for 22 points. Most importantly for this club, Porter did so with some high efficiency numbers: 8-12 shooting with four made 3s. I really like this team’s eventual upside if Porter can continue to develop into a consistent scorer.
Morgan Brown
Morgan Brown
Brown looked excellent this morning in a tough loss to Oak Ridge. She finished with 20 points on 9-14 shooting. Brown is leading a young squad, and carrying the leadership role with pride. She plays extremely hard from start to finish, plays on both ends, and is a highly skilled shot maker (two made threes on the day).
Joie Shipley
Joie Shipley
Shipley is certainly a 2027 I missed on. The kid was full of energy on Thursday morning on her way to 10 points, 14 rebounds, 8 steals, and 4 blocks. Shipley is already a game changing defender, and is simply disruptive with her length. If she can develop on the offensive end, her upside is sky-high. Despite the loss the Oak Ridge, Shipley shined bright.
*Florida Christmas Tourney News*
Carmichael had herself a night to remember, going off for 37 points (against one of the best teams in Floriday) for the Clinton Lady Dragons on their Christmas trip down to gulf. The sophomore tied a Clinton HS record with seven made three pointers, and finished 7/10 from three! Carmichael also added 10 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assissts. She continues to impress this season, and is really beginning to build a nice resume!

Mitchell finished with 8 points in their Thursday morning victory over West Greene, filling in the gaps between Oak Ridge’s veteran scorers. Mitchell is continuing to do a great job on the offensive end as a connector that helps facilitates the offense, while also not being aware that freshmen are supposed to be timid! I love Mitchell’s confidence, and she definitely adds a nice component to this Oak Ridge team.
Haily Bailey
Haily Bailey
Thursday vs Chuckey Doak, the Bailey and Miller show was back on display. Watching the North Greene offense vs man to man D is a lot of fun to watch as they play a 4 out system with two posts. They allow either post to slide to the block, set ball screens, etc. Understanding the IQ required to run this offense really speaks highly of Bailey’s understanding of the game. It also speaks volumes of her versatility as she frequently operates on the perimeter as she’s typically the one on the perimeter. She finished with 19 points (10 in the fourth quarter) and 10 rebounds.
The Bailey-Miller duo outscored Chuckey Doak by themselves (52 combined points).
The 6’0 Junior set the tone again vs Chuckey Doak. North Greene continuously ran half court sets for Miller, and she continued to get to her spots. Miller went 11-12 from the free throw line in the first half. The second half continued to be more of the same for Miller as CD couldn’t keep the ball out of her hands in the paint. Led all scorers with 23 points.
Really enjoyed her diversity. Run lots of handoff options at the top of the key.
Kennedy Brown
Kennedy Brown
Brown looked terrific vs North Greene scoring 8 first half points. The Chuckey Doak offense certainly looks to create looks for Brown, and she’s not shy about pulling the trigger. She’s a high level shooter, but also is really crafty attacking the rim.
A high level guard with elite handles and vision. A defensive monster in the Chuckey Doak run and jump press. Stuggled to ever find a rythm in this game due to fould trouble.
Lauren Blevins
Lauren Blevins
Blevins proved to the be additional outside threat that North Greene needed in this game. With two posts that command a ton of defensive attention, the NG guards find a lot of open looks. If one of
