It will be exciting to see what Joie Shipley Joie Shipley 6'0" | C West Greene | 2027 State TN looks like as a defender in her senior season. Because in her junior year with West Green High School, she proved to be one of the best interior defenders in her region.

Shipley game in and out sent opponents’ shot attempts flying away from her team’s basket. In multiple games in the 2025-2026 season, she had four or more blocks. This includes a game against Thomas Walker High School where she had eight blocks.

Shipley’s great shot blocking comes from her size and composure. She does a good job of stepping up and cutting off guards’ drives. She often beats them to the spot they are attacking and stops in time to block their shot and not let her momentum take her forward to cause a foul.

Shipley offensively is at her best in the paint. She is extremely efficient in scoring on the left side of the paint. She also is able to attack from the arc on a dribble drive as a center.

The West Greene Lady Buffaloes are coming of an ok, 2024-2025 season, finishing with a record of 13-13. Within this season there center Joie Shipley Joie Shipley 6'0" | C West Greene | 2027 State TN shined.

Shipley had some outstanding performances for West Greene High School last season. She showed that she can take over games in multiple ways, and as she develops as a player, these avenues to big games will only broaden.

One way she impacts games heavily is her shot blocking. She is extremely good at timing her jumps in contesting and blocking shots. Her defensive prowess was on full display against Chuckey-Doak High School where she recorded eight blocks. In that same contest she showed another ability she has, that being her rebounding. She had 17 rebounds against Chuckey-Doak.

Shipley simply does a great job at positioning herself and using her size to her advantage when getting boards. It will be exciting to see how Shipley and West Greene play in her junior season.
