Kloe has cemented herself as one of Illinois best. She has everything you need out of a program changing player.. and we might see that sooner than later at CSU next fall. Froebe will be entering a system that is guard centered, which will allow her wide ranged skillset to translate immediately. As her senior season goes into the second half, Kloe has already had moments to further stamp her greatness . 28pts in 1Q, as well as taking the title of Lincolns All Time Scorer (2377 and counting..)
I wouldn’t consider this a “drop” by any means. Guyton has proven herself as a force, excelling as a primary and a secondary option, as well as standing out on a AAU program that housed top-tier players. Her immediate impact in Iowa City will depend on the team’s changes; if a key player is lost, her intensity and scoring ability will definitely fill that void, but there’s also potential for another layer of growth if she plays a supporting role and learns up close. Guyton is in a win-win situation.
Hargroves approach to the game will be appreciated next year in Lincoln, and her skillset could earn her quality minutes in year 1. As a 6’2 forward/post, Amiah can stretch the floor on both sides of the ball, protect the paint, and be a playmaker from the post. Her potential is sky high, and her game can translate immediately.
Walton on ball is a lot to deal with for any defender. Her handles, her confidence and the fact that she plays with more strength than her height shows. However next year Walton might play off the ball at Northwestern due to their 1/5 punch.. and that honestly might be more suitable for her, and will allow her to save more in the tank to knock down shots. Xamiya is a scorer but a hell of a shooter, arguably one of the best in the state. If she gets into a situation where her role is to catch and shoot.. she might be find herself in some top freshman lists.
The DePaul commit has landed into the Top 5, showcasing versatility in playing both on and off the ball, solid defensive skills, and a newfound confidence from beyond the arc. Welcoming a new teammate this year has allowed Angie to show additional facets of her game, mainly, her adaptability within a lineup of diverse talents. When looking ahead to next year, Smith will be gearing up for an up-tempo offense, in which she’s gaining valuable reps this year with her current team.
