I scouted Andover’s 70-24 victory over Eisenhower (Goddard) on December 15.
Here is a look at the prospects who shined in that contest including two players who have already committed to play for Division I programs.
Brooke Walker Brooke Walker 5'8" | CG Andover | 2024 State KS , 5’8”, CG, Andover, ‘24
Walker can convert from deep, she can stop-and-pop in transition, and she can score while driving to the basket. I have not seen as pure a three-level scorer since Jackie Stiles played at Claflin. Walker finished with a game-high 20 points and five steals. She is the No. 2 ranked player among her Kansas Class of 2024 peers. She has committed to play basketball for the Utah Utes.
Aliyah Green Aliyah Green 6'0" | PF Andover | 2025 State KS , 6’0”, PF, Andover, ‘25
Green is Andover’s best interior scorer. She finished with eight points and 10 rebounds. I saw her and Andover play in the Pittsburg State summer team camp, but she was dealing with an injury during the summer event. Green is all-healed up and beating opponents to the glass. She is ranked No. 8 among her Kansas Class of 2025 peers. She is a Division I player all-day every day, but has a year left of high school ball after this one.
Alana Shetlar Alana Shetlar 6'1" | PF Andover | 2024 State KS , 6’1”, PF, Andover, ‘24
The third primary scorer for Andover is Shetlar. She is long and can shoot from deep. Her game reminds me of Scottie Pippen. She moves well in transition and is a solid passer for a big. Shetlar is ranked No. 7 in the Class of 2024 by PGH Kansas. She has committed to play basketball at Oral Roberts University. She finished with 11 points and shot 50 percent from 3-point range. She also chipped in four rebounds and one blocked shot.
Katie Evans Katie Evans 5'2" | SG Andovr | 2025 State KS , 5’2”, PG, Andover, ‘25
The Trojan guard arguably is the best defensive player for the Trojans and that’s because there are several of them who can defend the ball. She scored 14 points in the win and converted all four of her free throw attempts. Evans is ranked No. 132 by PGH Kansas. I would lobby that she should be moved into the top 100. I’d like to see her add a little upper body strength so she is even tougher in a fight for a loose ball.
Amelya Vance Amelya Vance 5'4" | CG Andover | 2025 State KS , 5’4”, G, Andover, ‘25
Vance is the consummate team player and can handle the ball. She gives Coach Hannah Alexander an option to move Walker and Evans to wings for 3-point shots. She is a plus-defensive player and a smooth passer. She hustles, fights for loose balls, and does the things a coach needs from a role player. Her stat line against the Tigers included four points, three rebounds, three steals, and four assists.
Carly Dameron Carly Dameron 6'2" | C Eisenhower | 2024 State KS , 6’2”, C, Eisenhower, ‘24
Eisenhower’s top scorer against Andover was Dameron. The senior post player knows how to create space in the paint and has a plus power move in the interior with the ability score moving to her right or left. Dameron scored a team-high 10 points and cleaned the glass for rebounds. Which was a significant number since the Trojans were raining buckets all night. She is currently ranked No. 37 in the Class of 2024.
