I was not fortunate to watch Green in person this past summer nor last season but I did several times while she was a Hutchinson Salthawk her freshman and sophomore years. She is exactly what my PGH Texas colleague Simmie Colson described her as in March, a “BEAST.” The Ark Valley Chisholm Trail Chisholm Trail division II first team honoree also was selected to the KBCA and SIK 5A second team and KSHSAACovered third team selections in 2024. Long, athletic, strong, goes to the hole with authority and shoots the three with range. Green averaged 9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2 steals but the monsterous number was shooting 59% from the floor to average 12.7 points. Green, who is expected to make a D I commitment, will be a major force behind the Trojans’ drive for a state title.

A returner from the 2023 Wichita area all-class top 10 Green moves to the top spot after being second behind former teammate and University of Utah player Brooke Walker. She is a returning KBCA and Sports In Kansas second team and KSHSAACovered third team selection. Green also earned Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division II first team honors. In the 5A third place game to end her 2024 season she logged a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. I have watched her game grow her beginning with her first two high school seasons in Hutchinson and she has turned into what my colleague Simmie Colson described her as, a beast. While a commitment is unannounced she is expected to sign with a major Division I program. Read more about her below.

Green gets the cover fora variety of reasons starting with I wrote BEAST in caps yet no CAP, her going AFTA everything took me back to that #THROWBACK era and with her being “long and athletic” which is and always will be the base, her scoring around the basket showing the hands and footwork was nice. She also scored off the dribble and showed good timing to block shots

Aliyah is another lengthy player on the floor. Her long wingspan helps her to get steals on the defensive end. The way she is able to perceive steals before they even happen is truly a talent. She is able to place herself in the right spots on the floor in defensive plays and makes a run with them once she secures the steal. This helps her team get ahead of the opponent allowing them to set up for plays or fast breaks. If she is not stealing the ball she is going up for defensive rebounds no matter how many players are in the paint. Aliyah is making sure to go up and secure the rebound to pass to her outlet no matter where she is on the floor. What helps her establish being a great rebounder is the fact that she is able to locate, seal, and box out before pursuing the ball. Which every time will help her secure the rebound to be hers because the defender is pushed back away from the basket.

#2 Transferring in from Hutchinson Green joins a couple long time club teammates on the Trojans roster. Ranked #7 in her class statewide Green is a terrific combination of size, strength, speed, and especially quickness. A very strong rebounder Green improved her shot selection, perimeter shooting ability, and handles to become a dangerous shooter who will attack the basket with authority. In her block game double-ball fake specials can be expected. She will then either go through, around, or over an opponent. Uncommitted, Green has received division I offers and interest. Green’s addition solidifies a shot at the 5A trophy appearing in a public school trophy case.
