Continue ReadingI often think about some of the stupid sayings I heard when I first became involved and although many things are probably dated based on the talent level from other eras, several players have made impacts in their first season of high school so that saying ” they’re going to be good when they become juniors” was puzzling but in a way, I sort of get it but these young stars of tomorrow are on the right path

Golden has shown me the IT factor years and watching her “poise under pressure” against older players heading to the next level at an early age spoke volumes. She creates her shot while being defended and watching her use a deceptive first step to attack and finish after contact is always nice, so is her body control yet her mid to long-range jumper, both in the set as well as in transition makes her a scoring threat
Jayden Golden
Jayden Golden
Golden Girl twin falls into that prototype point guard group that understands how to control the tempo as well as run her team and when you factor in she handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure, those two things are huge in itself. She scores off the dribble yet she also dishes while attacking and her court vision in transition is also solid. She drops the midrange and has very good upside
Jada Luke
Jada Luke
Luke is an athletic guard that understands how to use her athleticism on both ends of the court and her defensive pressure immediately stood out as she enjoyed applying heat “on the ball”. Her UPS also grabbed my attention as she hit the boards hard, on both ends and outrebounded taller players. She did a good job attacking the basket from multiple angles and her upside is solid

Campbell is “long and athletic” which will always be the base yet the soup is simmering as she’s showing signs of being hard to contain as she attacks the basket strongly and finishes after the lick. She also rebounds on both ends, showed she could score around the basket, putbacks included and she did a good job defensively but watching her play the passing lane was a big plus
Ogeche Okeke
Ogeche Okeke
Okeke is tall and probably over the magic number, which is 6’0, and I really like her upside for a number of reasons other than her height. She understands positioning and rebounds on both ends, and her interior defense is also solid. She has nice lateral movement to guard outside the paint but watching her go coast to coast and score was very nice
Azyua Blair
Azyua Blair
Blair is keeping plenty of buzz going about her game and although I only saw a glimpse, I saw enough to know she is going the be in the Top 100 mix. She’s another guard that applies pressure on both ends and her “on the ball” defense is smothering at times. She scores powerfully off the dribble, she rebounds against taller players and she plays the passing lane

Grays sister Riley is a freshman at North Carolina and she told me her sister was a #D1Lock. Well, she’s right and she too has Top 100 in her future and when you factor in her being “long and athletic” and over” the magic number”, that alone will have her on many next level coaches shot lists. She rebounds on both ends and can handle the ball afterward plus she can attack the basket using either hand. Solid defender that also plays the passing lane

Woodard is yet another athletic guard that showed she could defend in the set, as well as baseline to baseline, along with attacking the basket. She saw the floor well yet her decision making also stood out. She does a good job of playing within herself and understands how to get hers “in the flow” so her upside is nice
