An athlete willing to do the little things that make big differences in games. McClellan let her defense do her talking and dictate her game. She played a physical and athletic style of defense. McClellan was also an athletic rebounder that went after the ball off the rim. She read the offensive player and hit the passing lanes on a consistent basis in this game. Salame was basically the definition of turning defense into offense. Once she picked up the steal, there was absolutely no hesitation. Her mental game is elite, no question. She let the game come to her, making smart basketball decisions the whole way through. Stemmer showed solid court vision, particularly when she hit a breaking teammate in stride with a pass down the floor. She showed the ability to read a defender on the backside of a screen and make the right decision from there. You can tell that she takes pride in her perimeter defense and is more than willing to take the toughest assignments on that end. Bussell had the look of a high IQ defender that knew when to take risks and when to just buckle down and get a stop. I think she's a very talented athlete and she looked solid once again. Maida has really nice body control and touch on the ball. She scored and drew a foul on a smooth floater. Later in the game Maida grabbed an offensive board, spun and finished for 2.
