No. 6: Shayne Eldridge Shayne Eldridge 5'7" | CG Wall | 2024 State NJ – Wall (No. 76 overall)
Eldridge has shown great consistency during her high school career, one of the better scorers and shooters the Shore Conference with great defensive capabilities. She did have a dip in production as a junior, something to at least watch in her senior season with Wall to see how she steps up as a backcourt leader for this team, but we know she can knock down shots consistently from three, we know she’s done a great job in the guard role and we know she’s shown great maturity at the position.
No. 7: Zya Washington Zya Washington 5'7" | CG Montclair Immaculate | 2024 State NJ – Montclair Immaculate (No. 90 overall)
Washington has bounced around a bit when it comes to high school ball, but that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to ball out on the court. Good breakaway speed on fast break opportunities which she can use to get to the rim or get teammates involved, attracting defenses to her before she kicks it out. Washington looks to have really solid court vision and awareness as a guard, and she’s aggressive with the ball, challenging defenders to drive into the lane and get to the basket.
No. 8: Alyssa Cueto Alyssa Cueto 5'5" | CG Union City | 2024 State NJ – Union City (No. 91 overall)
Cueto showcases a bit of everything on the floor, certainly a versatile player with great agility and feel for the game. Something that sticks out quickly when watching her play is her catch-and-shoot efficiency. Really quick shooting release and great confidence stepping into her shot. She’s someone who’s going to get a bit dirty on the court, diving around for a loose ball or to cause a turnover. Cueto will get into the lane and isn’t afraid to get physical to haul in rebounds or get a scoring opportunity.
No. 9: Talia Baptiste Talia Baptiste 5'7" | CG Columbia | 2024 State NJ – Columbia (No. 93 overall)
Soon to be headed to Fairleigh Dickinson, Baptiste has been an active piece on both sides of the ball, over-performing in her small sample sizes in high school. We like how much she continues to get her teammates involved, a strong passer who understands the assisting game well. Not only that, but she’s an aggressive defensive player, playing well down on the post and picking off passes up top. Baptiste has turned up her offensive game significantly, and the proof is in the pudding when looking for results.
No. 10: Shawnae Biggs Shawnae Biggs CG Ewing | 2024 State NJ – Ewing (No. 95 overall)
No need to just look at Ewing’s big three when it comes to impact players in their lineup. Biggs is very much making things happen on the floor in a hybrid bench/fringe starter as we’ve seen her in recent years. That trend should continue this season, though she’s definitely earned more playing time with a strong rebounding ethic and great all-around defense that’s made her the third-leading stealer for the Blue Devils. Her passing game speaks volumes too about how much she’s embraced and excelled in her current role.
