This week I attended several games in the Dayton area and got to see some promising point guards who I expect to continue to grow their game and be leaders for their teams.
Liked her improvement from last year as a freshman, Drake is a super quick guard who has the ability to penetrate well and slither to the rim. She may be small in stature, but her game is big. Can finish at the rim.
Plays with energy and is able to really push transition well with good handles. She does a good job reading the floor and can distribute.
Tai made the move over to Tri-Village, and displayed a steady improved game with confidence to run the offense. She has a lot of weapons around her so she isn’t relied upon to make everything happen, she gets everyone involved.
Her court vision is very good, and can zip the pass up court on the move for an easy transition basket. Puts good pressure on her opponent and can create mistakes with quick hands and a good court sense.

Now… the show is hers. With the graduation of 2023 top 30 player Sami Bardinaro, it is Noel’s time to run the offense at Butler. She displayed good confidence when I saw her last week, and was not afraid to take the big shot from any distance.
She can knock down the three and facilitate things from the point spot. Also able to play the off-guard spot with accurate perimeter shooting. Plays with a fire and heart to be a positive leader for the Aviators. (feature photo above)

Ashlyn Miller
Ashlyn Miller
Really liked what I saw from her when I made the trip to Pleasant Hill to see Newton play Arcanum. Miller came out early and knocked down a couple of threes and ended with several on the night. She has a quick release and helped the Trojans set the tempo to stay in control of the game.
Ashlyn also can get downhill and finish the play at the rim. Good handles and plays with a desire to help her team succeed. First time I have seen her, was impressed.
Reese Hess
Reese Hess
Talk about flying under the radar, that fits Reese perfectly. From what I hear from her coaches, her game has really grown into being a very good leader for the Indians. I loved what I saw her do, she was in command the whole night, pushed tempo and can score in all three phases.
She has a great motor and can create so much for her team. Defensively she just creates problems with her speed and ability to turn the ball over.
