These girls serve as the backbone of their teams showing leadership, scoring ability, and heart. They play tough every game as they gear up for league play.
Zoe Angustain
Zoe Angustain
Zoe, a resilient senior from Mission Viejo consistently demonstrates her dedication in every game. She excels in creating opportunities for three-point shots but she is steady with the ball and in challenging moments she quickly passes to open teammates contributing significantly to her teams success. Zoe has a calm confidence that shows when she dribbles the ball down the court and takes on difficult defenders. She is an unselfish player that gets more assists then shots but her strategic play makes her a valuable asset.
Raquel Vallejo
Raquel Vallejo
Raquel fiercely battles for each point. She has remarkable court coverage. Her excellent foot work and her anticipation of exactly where the ball will be makes her a fierce defender. She also does not hesitate to take numerous shots and even though she doesn’t always make her lay up she fearlessly drives to the rim.
Sophia Gazzaniga
Sophia Gazzaniga
Sophia is great at blocking out opponents, securing rebounds, and maintaining focus. She does a great job despite not being the tallest on the court. But she positions herself correctly and generates effective offensive blocks which allows her point guard optimal shooting opportunities. She is great at positioning herself underneath the net to secure crucial rebounds and is always moving in order to draw defenders away from her teammates to allow more space and time for them to shoot.
Kaitlyn Leibe
Kaitlyn Leibe
Kaitlyn excels in her role which is due to her smart understanding of court management and how to run the floor. She is a tenacious defender and is constantly deflecting the ball from the other team. She seamlessly transitions to offense and does an outstanding job of creating pick and rolls and taking those much needed quick, close shots.
Ellie Robinson
Ellie Robinson
Ellie assumes the role of point guard and takes complete control from one end to the court to the other. She has an amazing combination of agility and strength and she pushes through defenders and consistently locates open teammates with her precise passes giving them uncontested shot opportunities time and time again. She is also not afraid to use her height advantage as she navigates the perimeter with finesse or decides to maneuver to the rim for a close shot. She is fun to watch!
