Now…I have never ranked middle school players, but it is more appropriate to just take note of a few who I expect to contribute quickly when they arrive at the high school level. This week, I will look at a few who are ready to shine!
Huge props to Angie Saiter for the help with the Central Ohio area kids!
Ryleigh Thrapp
Ryleigh Thrapp
According to the Central Ohio expert Angie Saiter, this multi sport athlete who destroys the volleyball with kills, also has killer moves on the basketball court. Love her baseline moves to the basket, strong outside shot! Active hands and feet on D. She is going to fit in very well with Olentangy style of play!
Riley Blankenship

Another player who Angie loves! Riley has the skills, work ethic, and basketball IQ to do serious damage to opposing teams. She has so many offensive weapons in her pocket to choose from- quick jab moves to the bucket, solid outside shooter, creates open looks for her teammates through dribble penetration, and she doesn’t get rattled! She’s in a league of her own! At 5’11, this PG/ SG has a very high ceiling

Grubbs has terrific footwork- she can post up on the block and capitalize, and she certainly can knock down shots from anywhere outside and behind the arc. Follows her shot, loves to stack the boards. You’ll be hearing her name a lot over the next several years.
Dakhari Blankumsee
Dakhari Blankumsee
This kid is going to quite a presence starting next year in the Queen City. Explosive play-maker, with such a natural feel for the game! It doesn’t matter if she’s double teamed because she uses her speed, under control moves, and fantastic handles to blow past anyone in her way! Ohio State has already offered her a scholarship.
Abbi Mader

I put her as a CG even though she can really play anywhere. Abbi was a big force last summer, and when she steps onto the court in high school next year, she will be an immediate impact player. She has all the tools to be a high impact factor. Great physical presence, solid on the boards and able to control the paint defensively. Can score in all three phases of the game, great body control and can knock down the perimeter shot.
