Quincy jumped out to an early lead but Battle chipped away and had an excellent 4th quarter + overtime period in order to seal the win. An exciting game which featured a number of bright young prospects. Here are the top takeaways from the game!
Tayla Robinson Tayla Robinson 5'5" | PG Battle | 2025 State MO and Jaleah Brookins form a dynamic duo.
These two juniors have been playing together for a while and the chemistry shows in their play. Robinson is the guard and Brookins is the forward. They run an excellent screen & roll game which isolates the two in spots on the floor. Robinson found space to make 4 threes in this one which caused the defense to adjust because of her range. Bringing the defense out higher was a positive factor for Brookins. The 5’11 forward was relentless on the glass. She had 14 rebounds and earned 5 extra shots for her team via the offensive glass. The junior can do a little bit of everything on the floor and made the most of her looks around the rim. It was a low scoring game and these two 2025s propelled their team to a win.
Jayda Brown is a prospect to watch in 2027.
Brown operates as the center for Quincy and does so as just a freshman. She’s a skilled player who uses her frame and footwork to score on the block. Possesses good hands and makes swift moves with her back to the basket. Her double-double of 14 PTS and 12 PTS kept Quincy in the game. She was very good during the initial portion of the game showing all the tools you look for in a young post prospect. Beside her for the next four years is another solid 2027 in Myley Longcor. These two along with 2028 phenom, Khloe Nicholson, will make Quincy a top team to watch moving into the future.
