Her team was defeated in a close 42-36 game against Perry, but Aubrey Gasch Aubrey Gasch 5’7″ | CG Potterville | 2027 State MI made a statement. The freshman came up huge in a valiant Potterville effort. She showed her ability to shoot from 3 point range, burying 5 triples on her way to 17 points in the game. Gasch added 6 boards as well. She very well could be a freshman to pay close attention to.

Oscoda was able to upset an undefeated Alcona team by a score of 51-29. The big game was sparked by the performance of Luella Whipkey. The point guard led the way offensively scorching the nets for 29 total points. Whipkey showed herself to be a 2 way player as she was part of an excellent all around Oscoda defensive effort.

Yasmeen Dabish Yasmeen Dabish SF Troy Athens | 2025 State MI
Troy Athens brought their record to an even 5-5 with a very impressive win against Rochester Adams. In the game, Yasmeen Dabish Yasmeen Dabish SF Troy Athens | 2025 State MI caught a lot of people’s eyes. She scored a game high 22 points and did it in an efficient manner. Dabish earned a lot of good looks at the rim with her work before she even had the ball. Dabish finished the night with a double-double as she added 10 rebounds to her stat sheet.
Stevenson was defeated in a quality game against Chippewa Valley, a game in which the entire team showed toughness. Hannah Tamou Hannah Tamou CG Sterling Heights Stevenson | 2025 State MI exemplified that team toughness and never surrender approach. She scored 21 points in a game where every bucket was critical. Tamou will be an important part of many future victories.

Manny Leydig
Leydig has made big strides in her game over the last year or so and a win against Fenton was a perfect example of some of that growth. She’s been relied upon as a scorer when Durand plays winning basketball. Leydig showed the potential to be a dangerous shooter, burying 5 triples against Fenton.
Charlotte Zantello
Charlotte Zantello
Gobles picked up a nice victory against Black River and Zantello more than left her mark on the game. She picked up a points and rebound double-double, scoring 15 and grabbing 12 rebounds. There’s some nice talent on this Gobles team and Zantello has the ability to take them up a notch when she’s at the top of her game. She brought it on both ends against Black River, showing good defensive vision and hands.
